The Westin in Ottawa is THE perfect location if you plan on staying downtown Ottawa and nearby the Ottawa market. Naturaly, The Westin's rooms, lobby... and all of the hotel are clean, which is caracteristic of all the Westins around the world. The staff is absolutely remarkable and the ammenities are great! The Shoreline Seafood and Steak restaurant located in the hotel is very, very good! But what makes The Westin so special is that it's close to virtually everything great Ottawa has to offer! The hotel is linked with the Rideau Centre (Ottawa's preferred shopping mall) and the Ottawa Convention Centre. I was there for business and I had to attend the convention centre. It's very practical when you don't have to take your car (and your jacket!) to attend the convention centre or to go shopping! You are also less than a 5 minute walk to the Ottawa market, where delicious and various types of restaurants, lounges and bars are awaiting you. Of course, you must expect to pay a premium for your hotel room because of the great location of the hotel. However, the premium you pay for your stay will compensate for the money you would normally spend transiting in the city by cab or by bus. In other words, you can save money staying at other hotels, but you would be spending extra money to travel by cab or bus.
