I was given a standard room upon checking in even though I purchased a superior room. When I inquired about this matter later, they moved me to a superior room. They refused to take my credit card for the deposit of 5000 baht but insisted on having cash. They commented that I will be billed 5000baht immediately and if I do not utilised any of the deposit […] for room services or services they could only revert the amount back after 15 days. As usual it had been a great stay. We were met by the fabulous concierge team & check in was a breeze. Although the bts was less than a 5 mins walk, we took the cab cos we are a party of 4 & my mum was on a wheelchair. It's pretty cheap to move around Bangkok in a cab if you are not caught in a traffic jam. We paid abt usd 2 to chatucak from hotel. […] In fact it cost between usd 1-2 for us to get to shopping malls like Terminal 21/Central world/platinum fashion mall & Big C. Usually we wud try to get back to the hotel just before 4pm to avoid the jam. For Muslim travellers,there's a few halal food joints in MBK. It's on the 5th floor. By the way, there's also a halal/vegetarian food corner at the Square which is on the 2nd floor of the hotel. Simply luv the Gourmet market at Paragon (abt 5mins from hotel). This hotel is very well situated and very convenient. Staff was very good and better than at the other hotels in Thailand. It was best to ask the bell captain to call for metered taxis as cabs are a problem as far as negotiating rates are concerned. We stayed 4 nights from Dec 21 to 25, 2012. The hotel location is superb, being within walking distance of the major shopping centres, restaurants and the skytrain station. Hotel service ranges from good to excellent but unfortunately, the furnishings and fixtures in the rooms are dated. The room carpet looks tired and the bathroom's bathtub, shower […] fixtures and tiles are downright shabby. The breakfast buffet spread is of limited range, boring and lacks quality.
