My room could have been refreshed a bit. The location of the Safe in the closet was a bit hard to reach. Buffet selection was great for Dinner and Breakfast, I did not get the chance to try it at lunch, the Lebanon restaurant was good as well. I had asked for a non-smoking room and they had accepted so many guests that I was put in a 2nd floor smoking room right above a busy street. Despite arriving at 1 AM the traffic noise was so bad I could not sleep past 6 AM and of course the smell from smokers was unpleasant. Furthermore, the check-in process took nearly 20 minutes because they were […] understaffed. Later, in order to arrange for a back-up wake up call, I finally had to change back into street clothes and go down to the lobby and wait in line again because no-one was answering the phones. With low wages, I cannot understand why the hotel did not have good coverage. In the room, the clock was set for the wrong time. I could not figure out how to use it or to turn off the alarm. I unplugged it thinking that would solve the problem but it still went off at 5 AM. Not a good start to a stay - but they did upgrade me to a quieter room the next morning. The staff itself was very nice. My only other complaint was paying in excess of $20 a glass (and a small one at that) for wine that I typically buy for $7 a bottle. My feeling is that while the staff is good the owners are milking this hotel for everything they can get out of it without regard for how that affects guests. I gave the hotel I stayed at before this one a "5" but a "2" is how I would characterize my overall experience at the Meridien. My original room was on older unrenovated room. After several attempts to get the "no hot water" problem fixed, I was moved to a newer renovated room. The new room I would rate as a 10 compared to the old room at 2.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Le Meridien, Jakarta. First of all, there is a whole wing of the hotel that faces a deserted construction site. Who would want to wake up and see that in the morning? Second of all, the TV cabinet, wardrobe, and door are all very old and in poor condition. Third of all, there is nothing in the immediate neighbourhood […] surrounding Le Meridien. In addition, the swimming pool is so small that it hardly qualifies as a swimming pool at all. Finally, the toiletries are of the lowest quality--make sure you bring your own skin cream, shampoo, shower gel, soap, etc. In summary, there are far better and newer 4- and 5-star hotels in Jakarta. Was given a smoking room despite requesting for a non smoking one. Smell of smoke from outside the room was very strong, which was slightly uncomfortable for me. Also, there was a small area in the bathroom with a strong roach stench. Otherwise, the service was great, as usual. My preferred hotel in Jakarta.

Do not opt for the superior room category as those rooms are old and well worn. Deluxe is much nicer and not much more expensive and like staying at a different hotel...

We stayed there for 2 nights, my daughters enjoyed the pool very much. Though the hotel building is old, but the interior has been renovated and quite clean. The rate quite competitive, and breakfast is superb.

We expected this to be a very nice hotel - but it turned out to be an absolutely amazing one! The rooms are large and extremely comfortable, with an impressive view of Jakarta. Some elements (ie, telephone, hairdryer) are dated, but overall the rooms are relaxing, comfortable, and very clean. Service was exceptional - check-in staff recognised my birthday a few days before, and made a real fuss of me! The breakfast was PHENOMENAL. It's probably the most comprehensive buffet I've ever seen, crammed with fresh, high quality produce and some really interesting dishes and fruit smoothie recipes. Le Meridien Jakarta was a great hotel. I stayed there for about 2 weeks and enjoyed my visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was good for what I needed. Breakfast buffet was excellent -- lots of variety. Free internet was good and reliable. Not the fastest, but not slow either. Very comfortable bed. Great bathroom. Le Meridien Jakarta is trying hard to survive among much better hotels, charging just a few dollars more. It is surviving so far but it is becoming more difficult over the years. Full refurbishment of the property is absolutely required.

I stayed here because of the lower rate and I have stayed in other Meridiens and been quite impressed (Picadilly Circus in London). This hotel was disappointing. I was told prior to arriving that it was "tired". And it is that. But I was expected clean bathrooms. Food was good. Service was good.

Hotell was decent and clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Coffee is too expensive!!! Bring your own. For difference in price, a Deluxe room is worth the upgrade form Superior. The deal we got through Expedia was a good one. The hotel is very good for business visitors. Wouldn't recomend it for tourists because of its location & the notoriuos traffic jams in Jakarta. Food was good & the amenities in the hotel were excellent.
