This hotel is in a great location - close enough to everything, but far enough to not have to deal with loud people out late at night. The center courtyard is absolutely gorgeous, and they have a nice continental breakfast bar set up each morning. Perhaps the biggest bonus is that it is a mere 3 blocks from Cafe du Monde! Having said that however, do […] NOT book one of the interior/non-window rooms - it is dark/damp and creepy and not worth the money. Also, I found the front desk staff to be fairly indifferent to helping so thank goodness the porter and garage staff were helpful. The room was clean, location great. Bed was pretty old and the leftover breakfast pastries were reused each day (according to the staff).. But it was a cheap stay and good location. Dont really reccomed the rooms without a window, they are like caves. The walls are very thin, so hope u are a heavy sleeper! The staff was super nice!

Great location in the French Quarter. Cool old buildings. Nice decor. Staff members were polite. Room had a couple hairs on the floor. Toilet hadn't been flushed. Overall, it was a nice enough stay for one night, and it was a good value.

The hotel was great. Our room was very spacious and clean. The hotel was steps away from Jackson Square and about 2 blocks from Burbon Street! The hotel was easy to find and was in a safe area. I would definitely come back and stay here!

Motel was excellent couldnt have asked for much better. It was convienent right in the French Qtr. No reflection on the motel as this was our 1st trip to New Orleans and our last. I guess we should have anticipated all the bumbs and drunks, my bad. If you go I reccomend Place d'Armes Hotel as your place to stay.

We stayed here one night after a cruise so that we could sightsee in New Orleans. The bellhop woman was very friendly and helpful. Our friends stayed on the first floor and they said it was very loud, but we stayed on the second and didn't have any problems with noise. The room smelled pretty musty, but I guess that is to be expected in an old building. […] It's less than a block from Jackson Square and two blocks from Bourbon St, so it's an ideal location if you want to sightsee. I paid an additional $20.00 a room for balcolnies. We were given I Courtyard room and I room upstairs with a small balcony overlooking pretty much nothing. The rooms were very clean and well kept.

Location of Place d'Armes Hotel cannot be beat; 1/2 block to Jackson Square, next door to Muriel's for fine dining, and across the street from the museum. The lovely garden and courtyard in the center of the hotel was the perfect spot to sip a glass a wine and rest my feet in the afternoon. Gorgeous quaint hotel in perfect location right near Bourbon but you can still enjoy quiet . Try ask for a room with a window , it makes a difference. Night manager very rude and un helpful but amazing day manager who couldn't do more to help us . Would recommend for price you can't beat it Clean rooms

Last minute reservations landed us here in the French Quarter at Place d'Armes. Quiet, clean and friendly. I wouldn't choose this place if you're lookin for a good breakfast. There's a little left to be desired. Pillows need some serious replacing as well. But for location, cleanliness, and price we will stay again. I picked the hotel due to location and price. The hotel was perfectly located for us. Across the street from Jackson Square, 2 blocks from Cafe du Monde, etc. The hotel is an older building and the walls are thin. We heard a lot of traffic in the halls, but that's not unexpected in the French Quarter as Mardis Gras approaches. We found the day desk […] staff (Deeanna?) friendlier than the evening staff, and a few members were especially helpful (Corey for example (Bell hop)) . We started our stay in an interior room and moved midway through to a room with a view. The second room was larger and more spacious, but both rooms were nice. The interior room was surprisingly suited to sleeping in and relaxing. My wife expressed concerns of feeling claustrophobic with no windows for a week, so we arranged to change rooms in advance, but had no issues with the interior room. Worth noting, there are no restaurants onsite at the hotel, they serve a continental breakfast each day though. We stayed from Jan 10 - 16, 2013. Baca selengkapnya

Being situated right near Jackson Sq it was so convenient to go anywhere. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, especially Corey. There were a couple of minor problems in our room which did not effect our stay and we noted them to the front desk as we were departing. We would definitely stay here again.

The Room was dirty and it stunk when we opened the door. The smell did not improve with time. The carpet smelled bad and was dirty. The bathroom floor was dirty. First and foremost... The LOCATION!!! This hotel is worth double the rate based on location alone. It's literally on the corner of Jackson Square, and only 1.5 blocks from Bourbon Street! Also, the amenities we read didn't include free WiFi, but the front desk was happy to give us the password for free. The front desk staff were perfectly polite, but […] don't expect them to go out of their way to give you a smile... The bell men were just the opposite, very welcoming and eager to help. Once checked in, we were wowed by the "very French Quarter" courtyard... Rooms and balconies all looking over the beautifully treed pool and sitting areas. The room itself was very clean and had all the requisite comforts. We always leave the "do not disturb" tag on the door even while away. We were pleasantly surprised when the housekeeping staff left a small note just to let us know they were respecting our privacy by not entering our room while making their rounds, but to simply call with any requests. The continental breakfast is standard fare, pastries, jellies and beverages... But the worlds most famous coffee and beignets (dont forget it's open 24hrs) is just a block away. I have stayed at the Place d'Armes on several occasions. It is in a convenient location in the French Quarter just off Jackson Square. The hotel is very quaint with a nice courtyard. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

There was a tiny bit of musty smell, and the interior room was a little small, but the hotel is beautiful. The mirrors are really awesome, I think they were actually silver backed. We were very happy with our stay.

Our room was clean and quiet (interior room) and we found that the lack of windows allowed us to sleep quite well. The mattress was covered with a flat sheet that did not reach the end of the bed, which I found a little irritating, but the room size and ammenities were good for the room rate. The location of the hotel was a definite plus (steps from […] Cafe Du Monde, the French Market, Jackson Sqare, Bourbon Street and Royal Street) and the Desk Employees were friendly and knowledgeable. The location and overall place was perfect. I did book a king suite and was given a queen and told that they did not even have king beds, which turned out to be untrue. The bed was not comfortable. Still, I would go again. Rates were reasonable.

I'd been looking forward to staying at the Place D'Armes - we try to get to New Orleans every year or two and this was one hotel we hadn't tried yet. After finally staying here, we were disappointed. Like many reviews said, it's run-down. I'm used to that, to a degree, in the French Quarter, but this was more like just laziness and neglect. Shampoo […] but no conditioner, one package of coffee, no fridge, broken sink (although it was promptly fixed). The breakfast, like other reviews have said, was one type of pastry, one type of muffin, and some fruit. One of the staff we talked with was helpful and nice - the others seemed to want to be anywhere else but there. Also, I hadn't come across this before, but make sure to ask for a room NOT on the first floor. It felt like we had an interior room as we could never open the curtains because we were right there on Chartres Street a foot away from people walking by day and night. And although I didn't think it would matter too much, it really is important to have a fridge in the room! All that great New Orleans food to bring back with you and nowhere to keep it. Not good. I was excited about this hotel after reading all the positive reviews, but I have to say, I'm not sure we were staying at the same place! I will say that the location is fantastic and so close to everything. The staff is friendly and helpful. But the room was a huge disappointment. The carpet had noticeable stains, they are very small, and my husband […] killed a cockroach hanging out by the chair. The room was beastly hot the entire time despite our cranking the air up. (By the way, we were there in November. I was much more comfortable outside than in our room.) In addition, the shower did not drain properly, so you had to stand in your dirty water. The Place d/Armes has a wonderful courtyard and just steps away from nearly everything in the French Quarter -- but still far enough away from the craziness of Bourbon Street. Very quiet block. The famous Muriel's restaurant is next door.
