A former slum, Rues Basses is now home to banks, jewellers, watchmakers, department stores, and designer boutiques. Shoppers not wanting quite the extravagance of Rue du Rhone (the main street) should head to neighbouring blocks that run parallel to the main street, which boast fine shopping with less stratospheric prices.

"Swiss Hotel Geneva - Mediocre At Best"
Very disappointed with this hotel. Location is excellent and convenient to tram lines and shopping - but that is about all it has going for it. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are so small they have an odd set-up whereby the shower is not totally enclosed (lots of water on floor, not good). Beds are what I would best term "European" and at worst […] say rock hard. "Below Expectations"
The hotel is in a great neighborhood and close to the tram lines that run throughout the city (great sightseeing base location). However, I was here for work and was disappointed w/ both the hotel's customer service and the room ammenities. The bathroom was unusually small for a hotel room and the shower set-up was annoying (the shower door only covers […] half the shower entrance by design and leads to water easily ending up all over) and the bed was (by American standards) really uncomfortable and stiff. There weren't that many staff that spoke English which gets annoying quickly. The conceirge's English was so bad that when I called and asked them to make a reservation for me at a restaurant across town - I arrived to find the restaurant full and the staff having no idea what I was talking about that they spoke to the conceirge at the hotel. Turns out he allegedly booked me a reservation at another restaurant bc he didn't fully understand my request - yet he didn't follow up if he didn't understand. Baca selengkapnya
"Nice Hotel"
Everything about the Hotel was nice! The bed was VERY HARD! Expensive but definitely worth coming "home" to a clean, polite, nice room!

Great location but beware: if yo have a lake view room and like to sleep with the window open it is very noisy! However beautiful rooms and even a TV in the bathroom.....! Bar drinks were expensive.
