Topaz Hotel, a Kimpton Hotel - Washington, Amerika Serikat

I stayed at one of their other sister hotel in the past and enjoyed it very much, so I figured I would give the Topaz a shot. The room was big with beautiful decor, from the wall paper choices, furniture, and to the artwork. One thing that stood out was that there was an actual vanity where I could get ready at; I have one at home that I do this at […] everyday instead of hovering over a small sink with bad fluorescent lighting. I read a couple of the reviews on here as well and don't see how anyone could have a bad stay here. It was clean, quiet, beautiful, and the staff was amazing they even stopped to pet my dog and asked questions about him. The first day I arrived I got rained in and really couldn't go far, so I spent most of the day in this large room very satisfied with my choice I made with the Topaz Hotel. We booked a king room, upon arrival we were told they were out of kings, so they switched us to a queen. We arrived in our room to find a double bed in what appeared to be a conference room with a divider...NOT what I paid for, and NOT what I expected. I will never stay here again!

We loved staying at Topaz! The beds were comfortable and our room even had an additional daybed, which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is a short walk to the Dupont Circle Metro station and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

The stay was great, the staff was great, our room was not. There was a low humming sound all night from the ventilator pipe located outside our window. Don't get room 1002 if you can help it if you stay here. Otherwise, the hotel is a classic Kimpton and very nice. The staff is super as always and that is a huge plus.

Main thing about this hotel is the neighbourhood, walking distance from nice restaurants. Rooms are old and basic. Liked the shower and great sink I will install that sink in my house. When you get off elevator hallways are stuffy. Service is great though did not get the complimentary wine they are famous of.

Had two issues w room. Door did not lock on exiting and phone would not dial front desk. They fixed immediately. Staff were super friendly and courteous. Room was enormous and quiet and clean. Would stay again without hesitation.

Took my daughter to D.C. for a mother-daughter weekend and we loved the Topaz! The staff is amazing, professional and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at The Topaz (unfortunately could only stay one night). The staff was extremely helpful and courteous -- wine hour was good fun . The location couldn't have been better. Excellent dinner next door at the Tabbard Inn. Highly recommend on all levels.

Second Kimpton Hotel I've stayed. Great location. Central to restaurants, bars etc. Overall think the Hotel George is a better Kimpton property.

We came to DC inauguration weekend...loved our stay at Topaz! Friendly stylish in a great location and the price was very reasonable . The wine event was great with tasty appetizers. DuPont circle neighborhood is lots of fun. I look forward to a return trip !

Knowledgable and friendly staff. Location was quiet and close to restaurants, public transit and an independent bookstore! This location is smaller than some of the other Kimpton hotels, but the beds were excellent and the room was attractively and usefully appointed.

Very thrilled with my stay. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was large and quite comfortable. Everyone I encountered from the front desk staff to the maids to the bar tender were friendly and pleasant. Love the funky feel and great location. It was also quiet, which I appreciated.

I was impressed by the front desk starr immediately. My reservation was for the next day but they had a room and gave me the discounted price. The rooms were great (except for noisy roof repairs but they moved my room) and the bar and grill was fine. A good hotel for the price. Didnt really like the sheets on the beds...but the hotel is well kept with a modern look. Looks small from the outside but its pretty cool when you get in. Great place to spend a short time.

This hotel had great decor, amazing service, convenient location, and a personalized feel. The front desk girl did an expectional job greeting us at the check-in and also recommended some great restaurants within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in town.

stayed at topaz for thanksgiving weekend. great room, great location! used street parking instead of paying the high overnight parking charge which the front desk gladly helped us with. great service throughout the stay. highly recommended!

Wish there was a guest parking apart from the Valet. Paying for the meter every 2h was a bit if a stress when you are on vacation. Very friendly and professional staff.

We really enjoyed our time with the hotel. It offers little amenities that only a boutique hotel can. I wish we had know about available bikes the hotel offers, but we walked most places. From the moment I checked in, every aspect of the service was first rate. In the morning, when I asked to check my bags, the clerk asked if i had my car with me and volunteered to put the bag in the trunk. The staff at the Topaz Hotel were the most courteous and pleasant people in the world. They greet you with a smile and either a "Good morning, Hello, Welcome to..., they are engaging and I would definitely stay at the Topaz again!!

The Topaz was a fantastic place to stay while my husband and I were visiting a friend. It was a 10 minute walk to Dupont circle and close to public transportation to the airport. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite and the hotel had a polished feel without being stuffy. I would definitely stay there again.

Minor plaints about sloppy maid service (no tissues, missing 2nd robe, that sort of thing) were immediately tended to (although maid missed emptying ice bucket for 2nd night). The hotel is a nice combination of modern but warm and homey with a bit of dash in the decor. Spacious room (beware -- I spend a lot of time in France so my judgement may be skewed). Exceptionally nice staff. On-premise drinks and dinner excellent. My only caution would be that the lounge tables that are used as dinner tables aren't big enough to feel […] like real dining tables. But there are plenty of good restaurants you can hop to on one foot and some excellent restaurants within a mile or so.
