Hotel has no elevator - don't stay here if you need one. It's old and dirty. Bed mattresses very thin and lumpy. Parking lot on slope and too narrow. Dangerous to park cause there isn't enough room. Overall the stay was ok. We got there late, and it was raining- made for some pretty waterfalls off the rockface the next morning, though. The location, decor, comfort and cleanliness of the room were perfect for my needs. I needed quick access to the highway to visit my son for parent weekend at Sewanee University, 20-30 miles away. My room card key did not work one time which was inconvenient, because I had to go back out in the rain to go to the lobby and get them to rekey it. The lady at the desk rekeyed it, but did not say "sorry for the incovnenience" or anything to me to let me know she understood it was frustrating. When I checked in, the lady at the desk was efficient, but profunctory. The front desk service was the only marginally negative I experienced at the hotel. "Good enough for a one night stay."
This hotel was perfectly fine and well priced for what we needed it for. Just a place to stop on the way to South Georgia. Surprisingly good free breakfast and a nice pool for the kids to burn off some energy. The other good thing was that it is in walking distance of several restaurants. The pillows weren't very comfortable, but the beds were fine […] and the bathroom was nice and clean. Hallway leading to room was very smelly-like it had been steam cleaned but not properly dried-hall carpets could use to be replaced. Room itself was clean-no odors, with a comfortable bed. The lady checking us in was a young lady who had a very good personality, one we could tease a little bit and she would just tease us in return. Very good at what she does.
