Great B+B. Food homemade and delicious. Staff extremely helpful, Extras make this an enjoyable place to stay. Close to transit and tours. Rates reasonalbe. Rooms quite clean and bed very comfy.

This was a business trip for me and even though it is a Bed and Breakfast Inn, it had everything I needed to do business: internet, printer, parking.... It was very comfortable and I look forward to staying again. Plus the breakfast was delicious!

This is a great place to stay in Cambridge, away from Harvard Square, but near Porter Square (and the Red Line). There are lots of good restaurants, cafes, bars right in the neighborhood.

I was traveling for business, but when I get the chance I will try out quaint bed and breakfasts as a way of feeling a bit more at home while on the road. Mary Prentiss did not disapoint. I loved my stay at Mary Prentiss Inn!! My husband and I stayed there for 1 night and will be going back! It was so friendly and cozy . Our room had a microwave and mini frig. They tea time in the afternoon with cookies. Good coffee and home made breakfast in the morning. Our room was very clean and location is fun with lots of shops. Thank you.

OK....so it is a "long" way from Mary Prentiss Inn to the Boston Convention Center, but it was well worth it. Takes about 1/2 hour by Red Line (Porter station) to South Station. Then catch #7 bus (runs every few minutes) to convention center, or just walk (about 1 mile). Room 13 is big with a loft for the bed. Spotless and shiny bathroom, TV and internet […] that work, food nearby. Everything exceedingly charming--they have spent a lot of time and thought about how to make a hotel at once old-fashioned and comfortable/convenient in the modern way. Breakfasts were quickly cooked to order (limited choice each day--e.g., pancakes Monday and Omelettes Tuesday) or continental (oatmeal, etc.). When you first enter the premises it takes your breath away, as you are entering a tastefully decorated home. Lovely grand staircase (noisy- but you only hear it when standing in the lobby), beautiful china teacups and cloth napkins with a wide variety of teas and quality cookies set out for high tea, a nice fire in the fireplace. I have had better breakfasts at b&b inns, but it was a nice, real breakfast. The staff are so friendly. I found it odd to go outside to get to my room, but I actually was very pleased with the room! Very pretty inn, excellent breakfast and also tea time. Room comfortable and attractive, but very small. Good parking facilities.

What a wonderful surprise to stumble upon this Inn near Porter Sq. Beautiful building with convenient parking under the bldg. Free WiFi. Welcoming teatime cookies. Lovely room. Lots of stairs. Extra welcoming staff.

This was our first stay in a inn. The positive experience makes us want to try others. We enjoyed the comfort of the room, the breakfast and afternoon tea. The convience of public transportation allowed our car to remain in the provided parking until we checked out.

It was awesome place to stay over the trip. They were totally kind and adorable. I bet whoever visit to stay here will be satisfied that. Finally, free breakfast and tea time at night were the best meals I've ever had.

The Mary prentiss inn was perfect. I was in Cambridge for a yoga workshop and wanted to be within walking distance. It was perfect in every way-location-room. U loved leaving my room every morning to the smell of breakfast. I felt like I was staying at someone's home. Unfortunately I had to leave before breakfast was served each morning. However they […] were very accommodating as one o the woman that stayed there asked that they have some cold cereal out for her knowing she too would be leaving before breakfast was served. This is a delightful, homey, comfortable haven in crowded Cambridge. The staff, accommodations, ambience and breakfast are as good as can be had, comparing favorably to expensive hotels. The convenience of the location and the considerate style put this on the top of our list for the area.

We stayed there over christmas and for this time it was a very nice and pretty place to stay. The room was kept in old style but newly renovated and modern with a flat TV. We had a fireplace in our room which were ready to use so it made the stay over christmas even nicer and romantic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Sweet, cozy and convenient location, beautifully restored and maintained! Free parking around Boston is rare (I paid $36 for 2 hours during sightseeing), as parking was included, it made the one night stay an extra bargain. Loved the room, which turned out to be a suite with microwave and fridge, and bed upstairs! Staff were so much nicer than the airport […] hotel I had stayed in a couple of nights before. Lovely inn in a esidential neighborhood setting close to Harvard and Mass. Ave. for interesting shopping and good restaurants. Loved the morning breakfast - good healthy food!

I made the reservation without thinking that this is a B&B and not a hotel which mean't that my late arrival (after 11pm) would create a problem for them. The night manager was nice enough to stay up and wait for me and my room was ready and very clean. This is an old house that is very quaint with original photos and furniture so if you are expecting […] something modern, look elsewhere. The hot water for my shower took ten minutes to arrive. There is precious little room to sit anywhere in the room and no working space at all. But it is a B&B so no one is expecting you to remain in the room all day. The breakfast was very good and a definite plus. Warning: if you are driving with your own car or a rental, parking will be a problem. Their underground garage is very cramped. Nice little get-away off the beaten path. Cool stores in the vicinity; more of a local experience. Beautiful old house, with a good breakfast included. Good experience!

My wife and I had a great experience here. The Inn had friendly staff and was located in a beautifully restored historic house. We were on a budget and got way more than we had hoped for. The free parking and a free REAL breakfast were welcomed. Our room opened up onto a shared deck couryard with plants and places to sit and relax. Wonderful staff and great breakfast. Make sure you have a small rental car because parking is difficult to find.

When I arrived at the Mary Prentiss Inn the staff made me feel comfortable and welcome, they maintained a level of excellent service throughout my stay. My flight arrived early, before normal check-in, and my room was prepared and available. The room was spacious, well cleaned, and wonderfully decorated. The bed was very comfortable, and the room amenities […] all worked well. The morning breakfast menus are delicious, and filling, and the afternoon tea time was relaxing. In fact, the only criticism I have with the entire stay is with the shower head, that sprayed in many directions, and the shower basket which continuously fell into the tub when in use. In all, two minute events in a wonderful stay. My travel brought me to Boston for a graduation in Cambridge, and the Inn's convenient location by T stops allowed me to ride into the city for a day's events and back in little time. I had a very nice stay at Mary Prentiss Inn. Very nice interior. Very cosy feel to it. Very close the Harvard University, walking distance. Also reasonably close to the Metro. The room was quiet, although it was possible to hear the neighbours at times, but it seems everybody was trying to keep quiet - hence, depending on your neighbours at the time […] you are there, things may be more noisy; the sound proofing between rooms is not so good. Enjoyed everything about the place, but the bed; 4-star joint but for the bed. Very bouncy. Every time I turned over, I woke my sleep-mate, and vice versa. Next time I'm getting a room with two beds. My stay was very pleasant. Clean room. Welcoming service. Great location for the purpose of my visit. Very well maintained. I would definitely stay there again if in the area.

This was a great find, with charming accommodations for a fair price. I enjoyed the breakfast and the cookies. One tip--if it looks too hard for you to back out of the parking area yourself, park somewhere else.

This was a lovely hotel for the price I paid. There was coffee and tea each afternoon and you were able to sign up for the breakfast you wanted. The portions were great and the menu is posted the night before. A nice walk to Harvard square and to the T. Parking was tight so once we got a space we left it for the entire stay. Loved everything about this charming B & B -- beautiful room, comfortable bed, great breakfast, location, and service, and the parking was a definite plus. Very comfortable. My room was plenty big (although I understand each room is a bit different). Everything was nice and clean. I expected plumbing/hot water problems since it's a historic building, but had no such difficulties! Friendly staff. Breakfast and afternoon tea were both awesome.
