Nice getaway from Singapore. Most Singaporeans seem to come in the weekends so in the week days it's very quiet (and relaxing). A bit aged but well kept. The staff was very friendly and gave us a free room upgrade as most of their rooms were vacant anyway. room condition is below my expectation. service is acceptable. quality of breakfast is quite good. most fun is swimming in the pool and sea. kids are quite happy with beach and elephant. overall is ok for family vacation.

On arrival we were met by the shuttle bus to the hotel, very well organised and had a warm welcome with a welcome drink, arrived early morning but room wasn't available until 2,00pm which was ok as we used all the facilities and had lunch, Hotel grounds are superb and looked after really well, shuttle bus around the complex is every half hr and prompt, […] we were staying in the Banyu Biru houses on the complex and it was beautiful surroundings with it's own pools/sauna's available to use , If staying in these accommodation then there is a buggy service that will pick you up within 5 min's of a phone call to take you around the complex ( excellent service) It was Chinese new year and we had oranges and an envelope of gold choc coins delivered to our house ( lovely gesture- even being British i appreciated it ) The inside of the houses are a let down, old, grubby, and worn out, the cleaners do the basic, we never received clean towels in our 2 night stay - even though i am sure they would have delivered some if asked, Lots of restaurants on site, much the same food in all, Breakfast buffet ok, really organized towards the Asian guests but acceptable , Would we return? yes we would, i can see why it is a 4 star as it ticks all the required boxes, be prepared for it not being perfect, It needs renovating inside rooms/houses and a really good clean!! but on the outside looks great, has all the facilities a family with a 12/13 yr old needed, It was a great escape from Singapore ! Good resort in Bintan Island. Many different kinds of activities in the resort for you to choose from. You will not feel bore during your stay. Beautiful and natural scene are all around the resort. Nice beach but no one swim there, and some of the water sport activities are not available due to the big waves in the Island seasonally. Nice large rooms. Big pool which is kept very clean. Staff are very friendly. Lots of tar on the beach prevented us swimming on the beach however.

Accommodation was very affordable, pictures of the hotel is exactly what you see. The resort was very resourceful , all activites where only 4-10 min walk. staff were extremely friendly, overall I would recommend this hotel.

There are 5-7 resorts in Bintan and most of them are owned by the same group - Nirwana Resorts. The hotel we stayed at had it's own beach section and pool which was great. The restaurants are limited and pricey and exploring outside the 'resort' side of the island isn't that easy. The hotel is located on a nice beach. Rooms are clean but hotel quite tired and could do with a freshen up. Overall a nice weekend spent with family. Nice pool for swimming and splashing around with children.

The service staff are generally very polite and the accomodation is decent. However, the food are actually quite forgettable and expensive.

This is a lovely place to stay, the beach is beautiful and quiet. And only a few feet away from the pool area. The hotel is tied and needs a really good makeover. The staff are very helpful and friendly, could do enough for you. Free wi-fi all over the hotel is wonderful. Food is ok but do not eat at the pool bar the food is awful.

I had a good experience staying there every year. This year, I felt their service is getting loose and negligent. The check in time was looooooooooong, more than 20 mins average. The staffs were not properly trained or knowledged to handle the routine work and FAQs. The service was minimal or just nominal, not much useful, but taking our time, waiting […] and waiting. Superb location but old was the impression of this resort. The staff were trying to do their best but lacked in skill. Cleaning was routinely done but was not clean enough. Food was above average. Alcohol beverage was too expensive. Pools were nice but needed maintence. The service from hotel staff was good,but not all of them. one of request was delayed to fix for more than 1hours by the staff not taking care of well, while we chased 3 times, but in general staffs are very delight,kind and helpful. Hotel was a kind of old and room and bed were very humidy, not feel comfy Activities, the preparation was very poor, […] we had a half day tour,but it was absolutely no worthy to take it. there is nothing to see outside of hotel. we were questioning if anybody from Hotel members reviewed the half day package before providing to guest, it would be better not to provide half day tour, it makes Hotel impression worse. Don't even know where to start... The rooms are very worn out, upon arrival found no towels, had to wait a couple of hours before a correct set was brought - the staff speaks little English. But the main point is - it's absolutely nothing to do there, unless you have a golf booked at the nearby facility and have nowhere to stay. The sea is full of tar […] on the water surface, the bars are ridiculously expensive, the breakfast is poorly managed as the restaurant is obviously over its capacity. Resort is a little old, but service was great, pool area excellent and beach clean. Worth a trip to local 'village' to stock up on beers and mixers as very expensive at the resort. Would definately visit again.

Nirwana Gardens is a family based resort in Bintan, Indonesia - an easy 55 minute ferry ride from Singapore. The is a great SE Asia paradise escape if you are doing a trip this part of the world. The food and condition of the resort are pretty average. The saving grace is the Day pass which includes activities to entertain the young and old - archery, rifle shooting, elephant rides, horse rides, bowling, flying fox, kayating, body boarding, table tennis, etc. Buy 2 adults get 2 child free! satisfactory parts: -hotel has a very nice swimming pool, my kid loves and enjoy it so much. -room, view, beach, breakfast are nice and comfortable. -staff are v nice(always smile) and helpful. -hotel's transportation arrangement is good -night view is wonderful & make me feel peaceful unsatisfactory parts: -not much activities arranged for kid/guest […] are free, -not enough chairs/tables around the pool for rest or put our stuff, toilet is not close to the pool -dinner buffet is expensive with not enough food and drinks are not inclusive, -the restaurants are maintained by the same company so that the price is not cheap or competitive and hv no choice (not suggest to dine in seafood restaurant). **overall the hotel is nice and recommended to stay, may come back again if charged at similar hotel rate next time. Facilities & service are good, however the quality of the rooms have dropped - this is my 3rd stay there. The pillows smelled mustry & the sink stopper in the bathroom was missing. Floor was dusty.

Shall start with the positive things first! - Very friendly staff. Everywhere we went, we were greeted politely with smiles. And whenever we needed help, it's like they are readily there to serve us. Excellent service! - Quite a nice place to just chill. Peaceful private beach, nice swimming pool and restaurants with alfresco seats with nice ambience! - […] Satisfactory room! Spacious and comfortable. - Travelling around was very convenient as they have shuttle bus service every half an hour (if im not wrong). They have counters which provide information on the other bus services. For example, if you're going for the fireflies tour, they have another bus to bring you to the swamp and back after your tour. - As I mentioned, they have counters which provide information on the services. There's a specific counter for food, and another on the activities. When we went to the activities counter, they introduced us to a package which costs SGD40 per pax. The package includes a few different activities like flying fox, elephant ride, horse ride, bowling, kayaking and body board. Should be quite worth the price for so many activities. Some things to improve on! - The food at all the restaurants are too overpriced! I understand it's a resort, but the food is not THAT fantastic, just normal. So the prices are too high! - The deluxe room was quite cosy and comfortable, but the floor and walls were a little dirty, which made the room look kinda old. - The beach was kinda quiet and a little boring because most of the water activities are at the water sports center (or was it called sea sports center, I can't rmb). The hotel was clean, easily accessible from the ferry terminal, had nice, clean pools, beach access, but i felt the activities were very lack luster. This is probably a better choice for families and not young couples.
