Such a great stay here. Right in midtown Manhattan in the heart of the action but at a really reasonable price. The room was small but immaculate. I requested a higher room with a view and the hotel did exactly that for us - the 21st floor with a beautiful view to wake up to. I would definitely recommend staying at CIVILIAN and I would definitely stay here again.

Welcoming staff and a small (expected in New York) single room which had been very well thought out and worked really well. Grand central was a walk away and perfect for getting around the city. Breakfast was excellent, way better than expected and things like a steamer for clothes was wonderful, loved my stay, bed comfy. Highly recommended

The hotel itself is clean and centrally located for NYC tourism in Times Sq. the staff are great, breakfast included was a good start to each day and the price we got through Expedia was a bargain. Be warned that there is a migrant shelter directly opposite the hotel which can be intimidating as large groups hang around outside - the hotel have a regular security guard and the NYPD are outside the shelter all the time.

I really appreciated this hotel being my base. The staff were phenomenally friendly, welcoming and helpful. That made a big difference to me as this was my first time in NY, on a ten day trip alone. A big adventure. The mattress was firm (very important) AND there were feather pillows. Close to travel and amenities. It’s listed as three star. I see it as four star. Very good value for money.

The room was clean and cleaned well every day, the room was quiet, the bed was very comfortable, the location was great, although some might feel it is a block or two too far east, the staff/team could not have been more dependable, helpful and professional- each were real gems .For the price in Manhattan it was just what I’d hoped for. Sure it does not have a lot of extra general amenities but the room was fully kitted out and it all worked and I don’t need a spa etc . Will visit again .

I stayed in several hotels over my stay in New York but this is the one I enjoyed the most. The location, close to Korea Town, was vibrant and very central. A tall building, it provides lovely views on its upper floors. There's a bar at the top and the hotel itself had an upbeat, sociable vibe even though my stay was near the start of a week. We stayed as a family of five for three nights. Great location, very near to Times Square. The breakfast had loads of choice. We stayed five in a room which was manageable, but a bit of a squeeze with a glass wall for the bathroom separating it from the sleeping area which wasn’t ideal! Great views as we stayed on 21st floor. We also asked the hotel bellboy to arrange a private taxi to the airport at 4.45am.

Lovely hotel in a quiet area. Lots of shops and places to eat nearby. The subway direct up to Times Square was outside the front door. Battery Park and Wall Street was 5 mins walk. Would definitely stay here again if visiting NYC.

Cool hotel near Grand Central Station. Nice area - not too busy, near restaurants, transport and shops. Hotel is boutique style - not big rooms but that’s NYC. Staff are lovely - Judy and the team. Water was replenished daily although note no coffee maker in room. Close to all night deli and loads of places for breakfast. It was a really good choice and would choose it again.
