The Menger is such a beautiful, historic hotel. It sits beside the Alamo and is within walking distance to all major attractions. The rooms are tastefully decorated with antique furniture. Our only complaint was the air wouldn’t cool below 75 degrees.

Definitely need new shower heads, it was also hard to keep the water at the right temperature. The bathroom sink had no hot water. We had to get hot water from the shower so my husband could shave. AC wasn’t great, I sweated all night. We went to the bar once, it was ok. Didn’t use the pool, but it looked nice and clean. Location was excellent.

This was our 5th stay at the Menger and we very much enjoy staying in the heart of San Antonio. It right across from the Alamo and the plaza. It is a short walk to the River Walk and even shorter to the mall. We went this time for the AC/DC Concert and eventhough it was hot, it was still a comfortable walk to the Alamodome. It is our favorite place to stay when we overnight in SA.

the Menger is full of history, from the original Menger, to the newest part of the hotel. we stayed in the old Menger part, it was wonderful. the room was up to date, with a/c, great bathrooms, with a great shower. it was central to all the sites we saw, the Alamo was the greatest, with its new attractions, we will be staying there the next go around.
