Good hotel at a decent price. Gabriel at the front desk checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed. Rooms are comfortable and have balconies. Interestingly the shower and toilet are part of the room, with frosted glass doors for privacy. Traffic was a bit loud but calmed down at night. There is a security guard posted through the evening/night. Our room had a view of Christ the Redeemer.

The hotel is very well placed in a five minutes walk from SDU airport. Has an incredible view from the balcony towards Guanabara Bay, Aterro Park and Sugar Loaf. Price is reasonable and it looks like everything is either new or renovated. Perfect for short stays, if you need to be close to the downtown airport or either Cinelândia, with all the theatres, museums and Rio history.

My room was in good condition. The concierge was very nice. However, housekeeping left much more to desired. They never did one thing right and never provided me with wash cloths. They also never cleaned the shower 🚿 during my stay of 10 days.

Cons: I wish I could give this accommodation zero stars and that’s solely for the utter lack of empathy shown by the front desk staff and especially a woman named I think Ali?. When I walked in Feb 17 after being assaulted and robbed right around the block from the hotel, and announced it at while she was at the front desk, she could not give a toss. Neither did the security guard. No one offered any assistance or concern whatsoever. Even when I asked her to reach the manager for a first aid kit, she seemed bored. He in turn seemed surprised, but again ZERO sympathy offered. This dismal attitude is on par with the rubbish attitude of the reception in general. When you walk in no one says hello, and when you leave no one says goodbye. They seem completely and utterly uninterested in the guests. Absolutely appalling “customer service.” These people should not be in business or should be retrained immediately. The area is complete rubbish so 100% do not recommend staying here during carnival as that that was when I got assaulted by walking to get lunch around the block from the hotel. There was almost no one around in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, special later in the afternoon. I do not recommend staying here even during no Carnival because even though the immediate area is busier during the work hours (the Italian, French and German consulates are literally around the block!), it’s really unsafe at night and you HAVE to take an Uber.

Tive uma mala quebrada e o vidro do box quebrou do nada. Sobre a mala eu cheguei cedo e entreguei ao recepcionista Lucas e fiquei aguardando na recepção uma vez que maleiro em qualquer hotel é de acesso restrito a funcionários e me aparece uma moça da limpeza dizendo que eu deveria ir até o maleiro junto ao funcionário (procedimento que realmente desconheço em qualquer hotelaria) quando cheguei lá a minha mala estava aberta arrebentada. Como eu tinha vindo de São Paulo para o rio e a mala estava em perfeito estado, usei o banheiro da área social e a mala estava sem nenhuma avaria e a manuseei até a mão do recepcionista sem problema algum foi na hora que ele pegou e eu fiquei na recepção aguardando que a mesma foi destruída. Após o ocorrido com a mala, em questão de 5h depois veio o segundo problema. Fui tomar meu banho e logo após ter tomado o vidro do box explodiu do nada e por minha sorte eu já estava na parte de fora porque senão eu estaria toda cortada a essa hora. O que salvou a minha estadia foi o segurança o Sr. Antonio (mas é uma empresa terceirizada então entendo o pq o atendimento foi bom), recepcionista da noite o Daniel e o menino que estava no café da manhã que infelizmente esqueci de perguntar o nome pq de resto é tudo um lixo e não vale a pena. Tem outros melhores na região e que tem uma estrutura conservadas

O quarto tinha um cheiro horrível, não há saída de ar para a umidade do chuveiro portanto o local cheira à mofo. Cabelos espalhados por todo o quarto mostrando que não foi limpo, cama cheirando à mofo. Banheiro além de não ter uma divisória para o quarto (apenas um box) espalha água pelo quarto todo
