I stayed at Hotel Superior Orly for a stopover before a long flight. I am not picky and don't need luxury, just somewhere clean and decent-smelling. However, this was one of the worst hotel nights I've ever had, including all my backpacking through South America, Southeast Asia, or the Camino de Santiago.
There was a heatwave in Paris, which worsened the unbearable stench of the room's carpet; it smelled heavily of humidity and sweat. The ancient AC unit (at least 40 years old) barely worked, and it looked so dirty I didn't feel safe leaving it on. On the positive side, the bed and linens were perfectly fine. Breakfast was nothing extraordinary, but since it was included in the price, I have no complaints.
Don't rely on the "free shuttle" if you have an early or late flight. I couldn't use it when arriving at midnight, nor for my return to Orly, because it runs on an extremely restricted schedule.
The silver lining was definitely the personnel. The staff was nice, willingly accepted my feedback about the room, and even let me stay longer past checkout so I could work on my laptop. Great staff, but the property needs urgent upgrades.
