"½ Star — Terrible Stay, Painful Sleep, Weak Breakfast, and Overpriced Parking
I stayed at Hyatt House Downtown Tampa expecting a comfortable and reliable hotel experience, especially because the Hyatt name usually carries a certain level of trust. Unfortunately, this stay was extremely disappointing from start to finish, and I honestly would not recommend this property to anyone who values comfort, rest, or basic hospitality.
The biggest issue was the bed and pillows. They were unbelievably uncomfortable. My wife and I both woke up with neck pain, and we did not get a single night of good, sound sleep during our stay. When you book a hotel, the most basic expectation is a clean, comfortable place to sleep. This hotel failed badly at that. The mattress felt uncomfortable, the pillows offered no proper support, and every morning we woke up feeling worse than when we went to bed. A vacation is supposed to help you relax, not leave you physically sore.
The breakfast was also a major letdown. Calling it breakfast almost feels generous. It felt cheap, poorly maintained, and nowhere near what I would expect from a Hyatt House property in downtown Tampa. The options were disappointing, the quality was poor, and the whole setup felt like an afterthought. For a hotel that charges downtown rates, the breakfast should be much better than what was offered.
Then there is the parking. Charging $45 per night for parking is ridiculous. At that point, it feels less like a hotel service and"
