No safe, no WiFi, ID must be held in reception
I stay in hotel more than 6 months of the year. I’ve been to thousands of hotels. I rarely leave reviews but felt compelled due to the poor experience I had
Firstly, upon check in the hotel had faulty WiFi, no connection at all, and it would be that way for my entire 5 day stay - crucial issue for most people but luckily I had a mobile hotspot connection
The second issue is I brought a guest one of the days - the hotel make your guests deposit their ID/passport - a scan and signature from me the room holder, is not enough, they’ll force you to leave physical ID in reception until you leave - this is a ridiculous policy holding guests ID for ransom
The third issue is the safety deposit box is faulty, it has limescale within the battery unit. Which means sometimes it randomly powers off and you cannot get your belongings.
Despite leaving a cash deposit on check in, you cannot bill breakfast to your room. You have to bring physical cash every morning to have breakfast. One of the days the safe was faulty and my money and wallet was locked inside the safe. I went to breakfast and explained the issue to them and they refused to let me bill breakfast to my room or pay by Apple Pay
This hotel has bad service - all of the staff are rude, I know it’s a cheap hotel but kindness and good service costs nothing
If you need WiFi, or a safe in your room, or you don’t want to surrender your guests ID as collateral (despite then having card and prepaid deposit) then avoid
