While we saw signs saying masks required, the only people we saw wearing them besides ourselves were the hosts at the check in desk who are behind plexiglass. The maid service did not wear them not did most of the guests. I know this was South Dakota but why have the sign if it isn't enforced by even the whole staff, especially the people going into the rooms to clean? There were also some interesting people and vehicles hanging out in the parking lot when we checked in that made us uncomfortable about leaving our vehicle even in the well lit lot. Fortunately everything was fine when we returned in the morning but it made us go back to our vehicle a couple of times just for our own comfort.

I booked this location based on their claim to be extra clean and sanitized. I moved rooms 3 times because each one was dirty. Food and trash on the floor, blood or catsup stains on the floor and walls, bodily fluid stains on the chair and ottoman, hair and drink stains on the dresser and night stands. Our 3rd room to try the Manager did come to our room with a towel and cleaner to clean it. All of the staff I dealt with were very apologetic and embarrassed by what had happened. In fact there was a mention that there had been other customer complaints that night about rooms not being cleaned. If closer supervision or training is given to the cleaning staff this hotel has the potential to be great. If it hadn’t been 1030 at night I would have left. The managers I spoke with said the problems would be addressed and fixed. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

We checked in on Sunday. There were 40-50 people in the lobby and atrium. Kind of a party atmosphere. A lot of kids running around and grown ups drinking in the atrium bar. Normally this would have been a lot of fun, but no one (and I mean no one) other than the staff and us was wearing masks. Few were social distancing. While we were waiting at the elevators (which you can`t practically avoid in this high-rise property), two unmasked couples got out of a small car chatting about where they were from. The staff were great, except for the fact that they weren't enforcing the policies that were posted at the front door.

The room was spotless! The staff at check-in and check-out were helpful, efficient, and did everything with a smile. We have stayed here with our Golden Retriever several times, and it has been exceptional each and every time. One more comment... we are grateful to bring our dog with us, so we try to leave our room clean when we check out too. We met a few other dog owners this trip too... and they were all of the same mind set. They patiently waited at the elevator, and allowed families with children to get on first, and picked up after their dogs at the outside grass area. Our sincere thanks to them & Holiday Inn for this added benefit. So appreciated!!!

Stayed Sept. 2020. Property was well kept, very good restaurant and bar located in the hotel and plenty of well lit parking. Very friendly and helpful staff. Drawback: room cards had to be returned each day of our stay; asked for cleaning service on 2 different days but none showed up. Not a big deal due to Covid; clean towels and other amenities were gladly provided at the front desk.
