Worst Hotel Experience
Front desk guy is so rude. I called earlier to inquire about early check-in and he stated it was a $50 fee. Arrive at the hotel, and there’s another woman in front checking out. She lost the deposit receipt (btw deposit is cash only, $100) and he was chastising her for “paying for things and not keeping the receipt.” After she leaves, I approach the front desk and he tells me it’s a $70 check in fee. I tell him I called earlier to ask and he told me it was $50. He persists in trying to charge me $70, but eventually, he stands by the $50 quote. He then adds the fee to my card transaction and attempts to overcharge me by rounding up my balance due for the room. He insisted on rounding the numbers until I showed him my confirmation of the quoted price and he grumbles about “it’s only a few dollars, but fine.” So unprofessional; I can’t imagine how many others he has done this to. The parking was terrible. We had to park in the rear and there were homeless people camping inside the garage. To reach the rear parking, we had to drive through an alleyway filled with trash—disgusting. Trash everywhere, completely blocking the street but we couldn’t back out either so we had to drive through the trash and hope nothing punctured our tires. When we got to the room, it smelled like mildew. We dwindled the smell down to the ac unit or vent in the bathroom. It was required that we call house keeping to inspect our room if we wanted our deposit back. Avoid at all costs!
