Restaurant not that busy on the evening. We were told to take a seat and then we were ignored. After around 10 minutes I had to get the waiter over. Placed our order. Starters came and when eaten we were again just ignored. Had to chase down staff again for service. Mains came, not what we ordered. Then after that was corrected had to wait ages for the bill. Having worked in hospitality myself I know what it is like. The staff seemed to have no pride in providing a quality service, very poor in that respect, but the food, when they got it right, was acceptable.

Property is looking tidy but is an excellent location to all Manchester terminals. Hotel needs some tlc but serves it purpose for what you need it for. They were very helpful in serving me food 5 mins befor restaurant closed which was nice and breakfast was lovely too. Good enough for the price but wouldn’t want to pay too much more ….. I paid £78 for 1 Saturday

Good location for the airport and thankfully we weren’t in our room much because it was a bit cool for us but heating didn’t work. Also the water was too cool too, I like a hot shower so that was awful not getting one but couldn’t be bothered complaining when there as it was a short stay. The worse thing was how we were treated by the shuttle bus driver when going back to the airport on Sunday evening. He spoke sarcastically when I asked was he going to airport at that time, he just came across like an angry man with a face full of thunder and to be like that towards a woman with two teenagers was horrendous. I actually still tried to be civil when getting off the bus so said thanks but he just stared at us so I then said how rude but he just ignored me! I won’t be staying again at that hotel based on this if I’m there again. Any other Clayton hotel I’ve stayed in has been great but not this one. The staff member checking us out was lovely so that was good!

Food was decent, bar was nicely set out. Check in fast and efficient wutj friendly staff. Shuttle from train station and to airport fab addition. Room 128 unfortunately was a massive let down with a strong sweaty and used odour as you entered the room that did not disapate even with the window open all night. The bathroom door was rotten, thick dust everywhere. Duvet cover ripped and exposing a yellow duvet and yellow stains on some of the towels. Not the standard i expect from Clayton. Emailed to complain and have been happy with their efficient response.

This was my 4th stay at The Clayton, as always it was perfect. Had an evening meal the night before I flew on holiday and also stayed the evening I came back. The evening meal was really lovely, especially the soup. My room was comfortable and clean and well stocked, the bed was very comfortable. On my return after my holiday I checked in approx 10pm. Yet again the room was comfortable, but I did notice that some of the drinks server's spent quite a bit of time on their phones, no one came to ask if I wanted a drink, I had to go to the bar and ask, it wasn't busy in fact it was pretty quiet. The breakfast is buffet style and was lovely, with juice, coffee, tea, bacon etc. I have already booked to stay again in October and I will be booking again to stay again next March, I won't stay anywhere else. And also a big shout out to the shuttle drivers who heave our heavy cases with a smile. Thank you Clayton Hotel staff, you make my stay pleasurable.

Very close to the terminals and excellent free transfer. Room was large and clean, but on the ground floor by the airport, inevitably had the constant rumble of planes. 10 minute walk to the airport pub for food and a pre holiday beer garden. Felt impersonal with the screen check in, as we didn't actually speak to a member of staff the whole stay, though it was only for 1 night prior to flights.
