We usually stay at the Marriott hotels and it has always been excellent, but sadly this visit was not the case.
There was some sort of issue with a small fire so upon check in, we were told that we could not get a room with a King sized bed that we paid extra to upgrade, and because we booked on Hotels.com they could not give us a refund. They offered us a cheap bottle of wine and said they gave us a better room with two queen beds but we did not feel like it was anything special and the halls smelled awful.
We were very disappointed that we could not access the pool and hot tub due to the key entry swipe being broken which was supposed to be fixed the next day but it was still inaccessible the next day.
The breakfast isn’t what it used to be. They rotated the same hot breakfasts - scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles or cheese omelette, sausage, waffles. They used to have hashbrowns and breakfast sandwiches but I guess the pandemic has affected what they serve. You no longer can make your own waffles either, which is understandable. The hard boiled eggs in the cooler was frozen.
The service was great, we just felt like the experience wasn’t the same as we are used to at the Marriott hotels for the reasons noted above. Hopefully things can go back to the quality they are known for.
