Allamanda Beach Resort

Great location in center of Grand Anse Beach, and the pool was nice. But rooms were dark, dated, and depressing. Our ocean view room was quite a distance from the ocean, and our bed faced an empty wall. The public spaces weren't much better, and the restaurant was underwhelming.

Outstanding location. The hotel is clearly not new; but it is well kept, super clean with excellent rooms providing all the extras like coffee machines, hairdryer in front of a big mirror, and even lovely large beach towels. One of the big factors is that the prices here are a fraction of any of the other hotels along the beach. There is no atmospheric beach bar etc at the hotel but good alternatives up and down the beach.

I usually stay at an AirBnB, but there is a lack of them on GrandAnse Beach. It is the cheapest option of Beach Front hotel there. It is clean, safe, quiet, not too crowded and I had a good time but it is falling apart. More like 2 stars. BIGGEST ISSUES: (a) The WiFi does not extend beyond your room. There is no WiFi on the beach. (b) The staff is very lazy in the mornings regarding beach chairs. The chairs are locked as late as 9 am. I like to swim early, and each day i had to call front desk to get the chairs unlocked . The beach chair man is however very over-active at 6:30pm, at which chairs must be returned. He will literally tell you to get off the chair as you watch the sunset. The chairs are old, heavy and bulky, and I doubt anyone wants to steal them.. (c) the hotel rooms are falling apart from age. During my stay, the 1. bathtub spigot fell off 2. coffee maker was broken 3. chair lining fell off 4. on some nights the water in hotel room stopped running 4. the toilet flush needed to be fixed Nearby amenities - (a) the supermarket and home goods store ( open on Sunday) are a life-saver for food ( as busses dont run after dusk and not on sunday). I always got GENLEG water there and most food. Supermarket gets new food on FRIDAY (otherwise it is out of stock). (b) The beach is public, so there will be locals and hucksters on the beach accosting the tourists. (c) there is a coconut shack and snacks by Radisson hotel (d) bring ECD cash

Bar and restaurant terrible

Location was great, bed was clean and comfy enough and the A/C was good, but the bathroom was not in great shape. Fixtures were dated and some pieces showed their wear along with a couple ants. Would expect a bit better for the price. The beach access is great, and the pool was quiet and clean.

Everyone at this hotel is very friendly and professional. I would stay here again. It’s close to a lot of shopping and great food.

This hotel has so much potential!!! You have lovely staff, a spectacular location with beach access, a decent pool, and a restaurant that serves delicious food!!! However, the property is tired and in need of repairs and updating, the rooms were worn to the point than even after they were cleaned by houskeeping they didn't appear clean. And the most unfortunate problem of all was the challenges to get dirty towels replaced. Also, if we wouldn't have requested new linens, it appears they wouldn't have been changed for a the full week we were there. I absolutely feel that this hotel should shine like the gem it truly is but the fatigue of the property and the stinginess with the towels/linens really do make a huge difference to your patrons.

Was offered a late checkout and the location was fantastic.
