Review your charges
When I checked in I wasn’t really explained what I was being charged for. We went into our room and it was hot, I looked at the thermostat and it was set at 60°, but it didn’t feel that temperature so called down to let them know that the AC was not working properly so maintenance came and replaced the air filter, we left the room & came back a few hours later and the room was still hot. I ended up going downstairs to ask for another room. The 2nd room also had a very old thermostat, but the temp. was a little better. The rooms in the ivory tower are renovated, but they are not updated. The thermostats were old and the restrooms did not have a fan so when you take a shower, everything gets foggy & the shower does not have a door. When I checked out, I received my receipt and was charged $1074, I reviewed the summary, and I noticed that I was charged a nightly room charge when I had already paid that amount through Hotels.com,I went back to let her know, but she insisted that they never received my payment, and that my card had been declined months ago. She gave me a copy of the summary showing that my card was declined, but it made no sense because the dates from when I booked it and the “declined” date did not match. I ended up leaving because I had to catch my flight. I later called my bank to verify that my card was charged through hotels.com and it was so I ended up calling hotels.com and the representative called Palms and they somehow now saw that I had paid prior.
