Shelburne Hotel & Suites by Affinia

Great location. Excellent front desk service. In town for week and found room clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.

Everything good except pillow was old fashion solid foam.

This was my first stay at the Shelburne, I will definitely return when I'm back in New York for business or pleasure. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and contained all the amenities one could want as a business guest. This will be my go-to place for the future.

I have stayed at this property 2 years in a row and this will be my last. Unfortunately our room was uncomfortable, extremely noisy and our coffee cups were dirty. We were suppose to get VIP treatment and we got less than our friends whom we traveled with. I even asked if we could have an upgrade and I was told no that nothing was available and yet our friend got a bigger room. I am happy for our friends but booking through Hotels.com I had the impression that we would get special treatment and that was far from the case.

I arrived at the hotel and in spite of having an email saying that the hotel was going to charge 399 usd, tax included, they charged me 493 usd, asking for a mandatory residence fee that never appeared in the exchange of emails. This fee is a fixed hidden cost on the room. They say they offer a half plastic glass of wine in the afternoon! The broker hotel.com failed to inform me as well. I think this is not correct at all, as i could have taken another hotel at a cheaper price. it is deceiving on the real room price and unjust for competitors and clients. The hotel charges 25% more of the price eventually above of what publicly stated and agreed when you reserve on line. Hotel.com showed also to be unreliable, in fact as broker web site they should advise on the real final costs. Otherwise why using their service ? This is against a healthy competition and is not transparent.
