The building and staff are great, but the location is not the best. although the view of Pudong is great, there is not much nearby and the distance to public transport is about a 20 minute walk.

Great location, fantastic views and friendly service. Fittings and furniture in the room was a bit worn down and the room was too warm (usually an issue in China during winter/spring). Great breakfast, good restaurants and a nice bar on the rooftop.

Extremely disappointing stay this time. Having stayed at this hotel on a prior trip , we decided that we would book this accommodation for our current visit. However while the hotel itself and the rooms are clean and comfortable, the overall service and standard of the staff and particularly the standard of their restaurants was more than disappointing and without question below par - nothing close to what is expected from an international 5 star hotel. The staff appeared to be extremely unmotivated, unorganized and gave little or no effort to assist their guests with many of them speaking little or no English whatsoever and choosing to ignore requests or questions rather than locate someone who could help. There were of course one or two exceptions however, in the main , responses were often surly and in all honesty quite rude. This property does not deserve a 5 star rating in my opinion and i would definately not book to stay there on a future visit to shanghai. We intentionally book an international 5 star rated hotel while travelling in china to ensure both a high standard and a good choice of western food and amenities - this hotel however failed quite spectacularly in this area and despite very long days , we had to venture out to obtain a reasonable standard of food. The vue restaurant however did not disappoint on the one occasion we ventured there and our meal at this restaurant was acceptable albeit very expensive. Very disappointing and not a 5 star experience.

It was an amazing short stay. The staff are very helpful. It is indeed a very good hotel.

Hotel room isn't that clean, there are several minor issue. Sofa kinda dirty with some spots and chipped wall. We were already laid our clothes and other stuff to finally thinking that we should have asked to be moved to a different room, so we decided not too. Plus we were to excited to explore what Shanghai has to offer.
