Hotel Černý Slon

Room was very dark with large dark furniture. The table lamps were dim and I was unable to read in the room. furniture had cigarette burns. This is listed as a 4 star hotel. Perhaps as a single woman I got the worst room??The staff was friendly and location excellent plus.

The location of this hotel is KEY. Literally in the old town square. Staff was friendly!

Fantastic location only several hundred feet from Old Town Square. Very convenient to everything. Walking distance to Charles Bridge along the main shopping artery. Quaint hotel along cobblestone streets...and a gelato stand right outside! Our room had no air conditioning but the table fan with open window was enough. The only downside was the noise from the street at very late hours. The narrow street outside the hotel is a main path to/from the Square, and with lots of bachelor parties and European football fans (not to mention the Music Festival in the Square) there was always late night/early morning groups of people shouting and chanting on their way to the next pub. No fault of the hotel of course, and in all honesty, we just considered it part of the experience. The good outweighed the bad by far.

Nice roomy room. Could use better lighting above bed. Ceiling light not enough. Light on table/desk didn't work. Possibly burned out bulb, but I didn't report it. Very convenient location and personnel were very nice and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

The Cerny Slon is an excellent choice for people wanting to stay in the Old Town. We had a very comfortable four day stay in an hotel that is literally located right next door to the Tyn Church. The buffet breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. The late night street noise was an issue but we were so tired at the end of the day that it didn’t matter much. We would definitely stay here again.
