Amazing. If I could find boutique hotels like this in every City I would never use the big chains again

Overall the stay was great! The hotel is in a great location and the staff are friendly. The only minor issues include: - Although the description of the room indicated that it had a queen at, it impacts had a “Petit queen” bed which was really just a double bed - The shower ran out of hot water - The street got noisy at 10:30 on Saturday night.

My qualms with Hotel Veritas stem from the fact that the room I was assigned was either incorrectly represented on hotels.com (the onus is on the hotel to remedy this) or was simply not the correct room (I raised this concern to staff, but to no avail). As consumers, we are oftentimes expected to roll over and just be grateful for whatever the "Daddy" Warbucks-es of the world deign to give us; I'm just here to point out the differences between what I was ensured of as a patron of this business and what I actually got. I'll start with the good stuff, because Hotel Veritas does have some nice perks. Its location is great with public transit links and easy-going, reasonably-priced valet service available for those who want it. There is a nespresso machine, water, juice, and soda, and (in the morning at least) tortas free for the taking by the front desk. The communal areas are thoughtfully put together and welcoming. I booked a supposedly 172-sq.ft. room w/queen bed, Egyptian cotton sheets, ipod dock, heat, and a down duvet. I got a 150-sq.ft. room with...issues. Heating was dismal and hotel staff seemed to think that a space heater—also in questionable condition—placed within two feet of the bed was both a safe and effective alternative, there were bodily fluids on the poly-fill duvet, cotton-poly blend sheets on the decidedly-not-queen-sized bed, no ipod dock, and the building's one elevator had a state inspection certificate that was 6 months into being expired.

Very pleasantly surprised by this place. Extremely warm, friendly staff. Complimentary coffee that actually tastes good. Cozy lobby with fireplace. Great location near shops & restaurants and walking distance to Harvard.
