Delightful inviting hotel. Love the grounds.

First class boutique hotel clearly well cared for. Our first room, Room 1, in which we spent two nights prior to our departure to Machu Picchu, was on the slightly small side but just fine in every way. When we returned, 3 days later, we were in Room 18, a much larger and more impressive room than Room 1, but with some significant disappointments. First the good: Very large, with desk, high ceilings, several chairs, small couch, several windows overlooking gardens, a large bathroom, and two beds. Appropriately squeaky wooden floors (cold underfoot). Very clean. Also a semi private porch also overlooking the gardens. Comfortable beds. Now the downside(s): TERRIBLE lighting in main room. Essentially one bulb, probably about 100 watts, for lighting a very large room. No light for the desk, and poorly placed (too low) and different controls for the night stand lamps. Bathroom lighting just adequate. Shower/tub combination with a half-door for shower. Difficult to adjust water temperature prior to entering shower because of half door. Adjust temperature with tub spout, and then rapidly switch to shower and jump back to avoid initial couple seconds of cold. And then be careful to avoid water spraying out the open half onto the bathroom floor. (Unless you are 6’ plus, you won’t be able to reach the ridiculously high spout to redirect the spray. Note: both rooms, indeed the entire hotel, had nearly useless Wi-Fi. Cellular data was much faster. We would definitely stay there again

Historic atmosphere well kept gardens

Lots of dark wood and white plaster. Smallish reception area. Welcoming receptionist. We were in room 1 for two nights. Good size, good lighting, small but functional bathroom with good shower easy to adjust from outside the shower. Pleasantly creaky wood floors. One downside was the very poor internet (Wi-Fi) connection. Cellular data was better, but still slow. We’d definitely stay again. And the restaurant is outstanding! Very good vegetarian selections along with meat-based meals. Locally sourced! I was walking to our room and caught a chef rooting in the garden for herbs of some kind. Doesn’t get much fresher than that. They also have a half decent IPA but tend to serve beer with too much head. Limited wine selection. Great coffee bar.

Parking and train

Nice place but under construction. With that being said, there was no undue construction noises and nothing laying around that makes the hotel less beautiful. They do a great job with an eco friendly stay and self sustaining food sources on premises. Train station right there which was awesome. Friendly staff and food was very good. The only negative is that the nearest place to park a vehicle is some distance away and was a little difficult to get luggage (if you have a lot) to get to the hotel. We had a lot of climbing gear so this may not be suck a big deal to others.

This is a very very cute hotel, right on the train station of Ollantaytambo itself!! The rooms were huge, giving very rustic vibes but had all the modern amenities. The restaurant also had delicious food. Would definitely recommend this place!

Much more than Machu Picchu

Exceptional hotel and property in Ollantaytambo. Located adjacent to the train station platform so super convenient to board the trains. The bonus is that the hotel has an organic farm with Inca developed infrastructure behind the property, which can be enjoyed by the guests. It is without words the view from our hotel room. Staying on this property at least a day before Machu Picchu and at least 2 days after is a must do. Additionally, meals are prepared with organic ingredients from the farm. Finally, the hotel staff leverages cost effective local driver contacts to help with visits to surrounding must see sites.

Quaint. Nice mountain views. Staff is tremendously helpful. Conveniently located right next to the train. Heater works well. Refrigerator (but no microwave) in room. Hotel laundry service reasonably priced. Wifi works well. Hotel restaurant is really good.

Amazing

Amazing place!! Love it here, kids didn’t want to leave! Love the organic gardens and convenience to the train station. Noise is not an issue. Will definitely stay here again.
