Upon our arrival at the property, where no staff was on hand, they had no idea we were booked to stay there, eventhough I had a Hotels.com confirmation and had paid online through Hotels.com for the reservation. The Lodge was full so the manager booked us at another property. We were shuffled around to a "comparable room" at the Doubletree in Breckenridge, missed our dinner reservations, were given keys to a room that was already occupied, after riding two elevators with all of our bags to locate our room through a labyrinthine hallway. It was definitely not the "boutique" hotel experience we had intentionally booked at the SkiWay Lodge. The staff at the Doubletree was inexperienced, did not have our information or the new reservation, as I was assured by the Hotels.com representative, and we wasted over an hour just trying to get to the room, checked into a different, unoccupied room and parked in the guest parking garage. We were extremely disappointed about missing the opportunity to stay at SkiWay Lodge. The alternative accommodations were nowhere near comparable and wasted quite a bit of our time for the short period that we were there to enjoy Breckenridge.
