MONDI Hotel am Grundlsee

Amazing place to stay in beautiful Lake District. The facility is simply superb & great for chilling out. Everything is excellent. The downside is their lack of flexibility in service - While checking in I was told that room will be serviced only once in 3 days - fine for us, but I had asked if the towels would be replaced when needed - The answer was 'yes' - But when I actually asked, I was told that the towels get replaced only on Tuesdays - We were lucky that it was Tuesday. May be it was just me but I found couple of ladies on reception a bit stern on phone when I had something to ask - A bit of smile & friendly voice would add into customer satisfaction. Bu no complaints - It was excellent stay.

could have been so much better

The hotel is in a wonderfall location and this is the strong side of it. from here there's a downfall regarding other aspects of the stay. the breakfast is okay. eating in the balcony with the lake in the view is really great. the service is not very friendly. no help was offered regarding things to do. the room was cleaned once during the 5 days stay. the room is outdated. beds are not the most comfortable. we got a second floor mini apartment - not convenient with the luggage, and way more expensive then a regular room (why wasnt that offered at the order time?) no one is smiling to you. the atmosphere from the staff was not very pleasant. all in all, a not so well managed and maintained property, in a lovely location

The hotel is nice & the lake is amazing but... it depends where your room is, because of the noice (if there is a party and you didn’t know it in advance) or people sitting outside late at night, or people walking near your room. Pity that only once in 3 days they clean the rooms. The breakfast is fantastic and the staff is nice. With all what I wrote, we loved the hotel.

Although in a beautiful setting, everything is extra and there is no boating available as it appears in the picture. Quite expensive for what you get.

Superb

An incredible place! If you want a quieter place to stay than Hallstatt, this is the place. Reserve a lake view room and you will not regret. Breakfast is very good. The only thing that could have made it better is to have air conditioned rooms, other than that it was perfect!

Mixed

We had a mixed experience here. The hotel is situated in a breathtaking location, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the Grundlsee. However, our stay was very much disturbed by the construction on the property which we do not feel we were adequately warned about prior to booking or arrival. We were initially put in a room directly overlooking the construction. When we asked to move, there was a bit of back and forth, as if we were being unreasonable to ask for a quieter room when traveling with a young toddler. Finally we were offered another room but had to move all of our bags ourselves. The new room was far superior in terms of location, but overall the condition of all the room could use improvement. They have clearly not been updated for some time, and while everything was properly clean, it was worn and dated. On the positive side, the general hotel facilities (lobby, restaurant, pool, etc) seemed much more updated. The food was excellent and the pool was very nice. Overall I don't think we'd go back, as we expected a bit more luxury for the price we paid.

Exceptional

Excellent hotel close to ski centers, hallstat and sone other beautiful sights by drive. Amazing wiev of the lake. Nice place for a family holiday.
