Quiet, peaceful, fresh air, no high rise, no traffic, clear sky, bright - gold in Korea but also stark, inhospitable, in the middle of nowhere on side of a mountain and hard to find. Tried to get email contact -managers no English, could not answer phone to find location. Asked Hotels.com for help but no response. All agents must give email contact for bookings. At least emails can be translated. We could not find it anywhere on maps and is nowhere near public transport or within walking distance of bus or train. Doubt any taxi driver could find it nor would it be affordable. Nearly had to pay for another hotel in Chuncheon if not for the info centre there (none in Pyeonchong which is nearest train/metro station). After repeated entreaties at 4pm to call and speak Korean to manager, contact was made and we were offered a pick-up and drop off to station. Standard double has had some touch up with small ensuite and kitchenette (BYO as nothing around). Lower floor leads out onto sundeck. Lovely! Rest of property needs an army of painters, cleaners and gardeners and maybe then it might be a great facility for yoga or meditation retreats. Standard room is OK but as in other places, rather than put the only other guest booked into more expensive spa rooms away from the only other guest below, they ruin the peace and quiet for us by putting them in the unit directly above us and we cannot sleep- invariably scrape furniture, stomp, pace and thump around above for most of the night.
