The person on reception was very apologetic about asking me if I had paid in full for my stay at the time of making an online booking through Expedia, but then went into too much detail about difficulties the motel had with bookings made through a third party (e.g. double booked rooms). However, she enquired what plans I had for the day, and even offered to arrange a lift to a place I wanted to visit.
The room was equipped with a 'fridge, basic crockery, cutlery and glasses, and was very clean and comfortable. The receptionist pointed me in the right direction to reach it, but I was offered no assistance getting to it.
On the morning of my departure, at 8 am, I almost missed a taxi I had booked as the reception was not yet open. What I understood to be the way out (the same way as I had entered on arrival) was locked and I had to find a longer way round to the front of the motel.
