We only spent one night here, but wished it was longer. From the moment we arrived the hospitality was outstanding. Fred greeted us outside with his two adorable dogs Riley and Tasha. I knew at that moment we were in for a treat. We had a lovely room with a balcony and while we didn't catch the aurora, this would have been the perfect viewing platform. The breakfast the next day was so plentiful I needed two stomachs and might have to ask for the hash recipe. The location is convenient to city center, but out far enough to feel like a cabin in the woods.Fred is very knowledgable on the aurora as well as activities in the area. Most importantly my friend and I both agreed that he and his wife felt like old friends immediately. Hands down I would return in the future.Thanks again Fred. We miss it already!

Home away from home
Very relaxing environment. The property is beautiful, clean, and very relaxing. A great place to unwind after a long day of outdoors activities. Outstanding service, and such a great place to experience Alaska. Love our time there and will definitely return, as we live in the state, and the lodge is just an hour flight away from home.

The staff lets us know if we want to be woken up to see the northen lights. I was not expecting that..

We really enjoyed our time at the Alaska Grizzly Lodge. Fred gave us first rate advice on places to visit and things to do in Fairbanks, and we really appreciated Sarah watching the sky at night for the northern lights while we slept. Breakfast was excellent, and the hospitality was first rate. The rooms and decor are a bit dated, which we thought added to the charm of our experience. The lodge is ten minutes out of town by good paved roads until the last mile or so, which is good if you want to see the sky without a lot of light from the ground. We would stay here again.

A wonderful lodge. Fred and Janet helped us with camera settings, advice on where to see the Northern Lights, and other tidbits. They are very knowledgeable about Alaska and great story tellers.

Nice viewing of the northern lights. The owners are on watch during the night and let you know when they appear. The breakfasts were excellent! Owners will provide transportation service if needed.

Loved our stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at Alaska Grizzly Lodge.
Our Aurora Guide would come knock on our door and invite us to come see the Aurora right outside the lodge!
Breakfast every morning was fantastic.
