Made a reservation through Hotels.com. Arranged for 12 people to stay there because of it's close proximity to the airport. Pre-trip, I heard that another person had made contact and the response was that they did not have a reservation. I contacted my group and asked that they contact the hotel directly and get a confirmation email of their reservation. Even with that, the first three to show up were told there was no room available and they had to move to another hotel until next day. With them at the hotel the next day, they made sure the Shivam Plaza staff had room for others coming. My own attempt to confirm my room yielded no response from the hotel.
Still, as others came, there was no airport transportation for them. The Hotel car did not go.
When it came time to pay, the only reason they accepted my Hotels.com pre-payment was because I had a hard copy of the Hotels.com confirmation. Another in the party had booked and prepaid on another global on-line provider. Because she did not have a hard copy confirmation, they refused to accept it and made her pay again. There is no computer at the desk and the desk person has no way to access any record. He had to take a photo of my confirmation for his records.
The Hotel Shivam Plaza may not be your best choice for hotels. It is close to the airport, it is affordable, the staff work very hard to meet your needs. But they have a very poor system of tracking reservations.
