Second time staying there. Room was ok but seems as if it hadn’t been wiped down, there were crumbs left on the chair from previous people.

Stay Away! Just Awful!
Complete disaster upon arriving- outdated doesn’t cover it. Driving up they don’t even bother to change the torn & weathered sign. Didn’t even want to park in the lot- neighborhood was sketchy to say the least. I hesitated a bit with my husband about going in. But I did, and instantly regretted it! Main hallway carpets were stained and gross, hallways humid and had a weird smell.The king room I booked was absolutely gross! Room was dimly lit, floor covering (Cheap Wood look linoleum) looked like it was laid over old carpet as the floor was full of lumps, humps and bumps and made for uneven flooring, tub was disgusting. Room smelled like an old smoky bar, paint was peeling everywhere and refrigerator broken. We we’re not even here a full twenty minutes- we left and never bothered to come back. I ate the cost of the room - didn’t even care! Booked a room at the best western plus since I was told that the Hotel Ramada next door, was run by the same proprietors and housed folks coming out of jail! I didn’t even bother to check the Hampton Inn that was also there. Nice Staff from the Applebee’s told me stay away from red roof and hampton inn & told us about the Best Western Plus down the road. It was very nice, modern and CLEAN!!!!! Got a king bedroom too! Manager asked us what brought us to his hotel- We told him about red roof inn and guess what? he wasn’t surprised - he rolled his eyes and apologized and even told his staff “guess where she was” etc, and they knew!!!!

Red Roof was very affordable! Easy to check in and very clean. Staff was very polite and helpful. I definitely will recommend this hotel.

Horrible Sister Hotel
Horrible place to spend your time. We booked this hotel for 3 night stay. Crappy cheap place. Untidy and unhygienic place with no ice, no WiFi. Even for things like sugar they sent us to nearby sister hotel Ramada which is equally horrible. Looks like both are under same ownership. Don't waste your time and money on this useless hotel.

The room smelled musty. The key didn’t work so we kept having to wait for front desk to open for us. Hardly ever did you see someone at front desk. Curtains were broken on the corner so we’re hanging off. I was very uncomfortable the days there. When arrived - I called other hotels but everyone was booked. Busy weekend because of college kids moving in so like us, parents were staying the night. I stayed because I had no choice but won’t book there again. I’ve stayed at others Red Roofs and never had an issue but this is a Total turn off.

Good place close to SUNY Cortland and nearby restaurants, bed was comfortable and price was great. The motel could use a little touching up but overall a good experience. Check in attendant was very nice.
