Best choice for cruisers!
H.H. is our go-to hotel pre- and post-cruise in Galveston! Service is friendly, the rooms are huge, and they let you store your luggage there before you check in and/or after you check out. It is walking distance to great seafood (Katie's), The Strand, and museums. Plus they have free bikes with locks to use to tool around Galveston if you want to. With that said, it *is* a converted pier warehouse, so there is minimal sound deadening. Even slightly loud kids or adults are easily heard in the room from the hallways. Not much they can do about it, but something to consider if you are a light sleeper. Bottom line: we will *always* stay at H.H. whenever we are in Galveston!

I think it was overpriced for what it offered, the shower toiletries were good quality but the bottles were minuscule. The coffee was terrible. Otherwise ok, quiet.

Great location
We were cruising, so having the room so close to a cruise port was fantastic. We were able to see the ships coming into port and were close to excellent restuarants and shopping. The room was very comfortable.

Worst Customer Service in Fifteen Years
I stayed here during the offseason after New Years with my two sons. We went to NASA all day and were looking forward to exploring Galveston that night. The room definitely needed cleaning and fresh towels. It was not serviced all day when we returned. After an hour of waiting, as and of day approached, I asked the front desk if they could clean the room. I was told the staff had left already. They had marked the room as “occupied” when it wasn’t. I told him the facts above. At first he argued as if I was lying and it was clear he didn’t care, wasn’t apologetic, and wasn’t going to do anything to help the situation. I’d strongly suggest staying elsewhere unless you want to be treated like a nuisance and get a substandard room.
