The only real thing this hotel has going for it is it's proximity to the beach. We've been coming here for a decade, every visit we're told they are "renovating" yet the only things that change are sloppy changes to the lobby, restaurants etc. The pool is up and running again, which is nice, but it is still dirty. It's noisy. The rooms are old. The "black out curtains" had so many rips/tears that it looked like we were sleeping in space.
It's like every corner that can be cut, has been. When you are paying premium beach prices, this stings a little. We do change things up and stay at other hotels in the area, we really want to like the Berkeley more than we do but it keeps disappointing us.
