Made reservations, and when I called to see about electricity after the hurricane, no answer. Made other arrangements, and had to eat the cost of the hotel.

At Columbia Lakes Cottage, not only are the prices amazing, but the area is beautiful. Thereare walking paths and bridges, there are nice country folks everywhere. You can see the stars at night and hide under the old oaks donning spanish moss. At Columbia lakes cottages, youre remembered and treated like family.

Property was great. No coffee cups, so unable to enjoy or make coffee. Wish that we would be able to use the kitchen that was attached to our room. No restaurant around the area.

West Columbia Cottage
Stay was great! Staff was quick and friendly at check-in. Although we were very late in the evening, concierge made sure we got the red carpet roll out. This is a nice change from traditional hotels. Note- no pets allowed. Late check-in fee $40. Deposit $75. They allowed a late checkout since we were in at midnight. After checking you get back in your vehicle and drive around a little swirly swirl to get to your room, you might want to ask for directions as it was not very easy to follow the map. Overall excellent stay- Cozy and quaint!

This resort is decadent, no attendants, room was dirty, found old food in a drawer of night stand, and bathroom was fealthy.. such a beautiful place in such a bad condition.. it lacks management

Website says pool & restaurant, the entire reason we choose this location. The restaurant is abandoned, the pool is green and told its not open til after Memorial Day, would have stayed close to our destination if we had known. Add in NO HOT Water, cigarette burns in bedding, not a chair to sit and put shoes on and water dripping all night from shower, not a good experience at all… we stayed the previous night at a budget motel that was much better

Not a place to stay
Didn't check in. Parents checked in but b/c of the conditions of the property, very poor lighting in their room and the fact the pool had not opened for the year, they booked other rooms at other hotel. Also, when checking in to their the A/C was broken in the lobby area. The gentleman that checked them in was very nice and helpful.

Great! Can’t wait to go back
Great two night stay. Will definitely make this my go to when I come to visit family. It’s older, and has a musty smell when you first walk in but once you turn the AC on it’s fine. My boys ages 4 and 11 loved it because they were able to fish. It was quiet all during the day and night. Parking is right next to your room. Cleaning services made the beds, provided extra towels, sweep the floors, took out the trash while we were gone. My recent stays at a more expensive hotel didn’t even provide cleaning services and it was a longer stay. The check in lady was awesome and very friendly!

Will consider other options
Facility is very dated. Beds were squeaky/noisy. When choos No a cottage, I expected a cottage, not just a bedroom. The adjoining cottage had the living room. Insulation between that wall was insufficient to muffle the sounds of the guests argument.

Not 1, not 2, several roaches around the room..outdated loud ac..no cups..not clean at all..i mean the units can be old thats fine but at least keep it clean..

Okay for a night
The name, “Columbia Lake Resort Cottages” makes it sound like your staying at a very fancy place, kind of deceiving. The cottages are a quadruplex from A-D, rooms A & B in the front and C & D in the back. No great shakes. The “cottage” we stayed in had 2 queen beds, TV, microwave, and a small fridge with freezer. The shower curtain had some mold spots. The finial on the bed came off. Overall, it’s okay for a night. Just remember, you get what you pay for.

The property displayed broken windows in multiple buildings. My building. Cottage 2A. A window was broken. The electrical outlet for the night stand did not work. The plug cover for the air conditioner was broken and most was missing. The room itself smelled strongly of mildew or mold. Shower and faucet was loose in the wall. Would not give the accommodations a 1 star rating.

The beds were clean or I would have left. They only had one curtain panel on each window so you could see in our room from outside. There was no drain cover...just a hole that exposed the drain pipe which had green corrosion. There was pieces of the old non skid stickers stuck to bottom of tub. The towels were colored towels but were stained. And the coffee pot still had the old coffee ground bad in the pot Nd it had mold growing on it...the unit itseld was not wiped down outside either. My daughter stayed next door to me and her coffee pot was the same...yuck. I have pictures of everything.

The few times I have stayed the experience was wonderful until this last time. I went online and made the reservation, once I got there I was shocked that there were additional fees I had to pay one being because I was checking in after 7 pm I mean really I have to pay 20 because of the time wow.. so in the end I paid double what I thought I was going to pay then the curtains didn’t fit the window so there was no way to keep someone from looking in because clearly they were to small .

The pictures for this location look NOTHING like the resort I stayed in. The lighting was so bad I really couldn't see anything. Light outside the cottage didn't work, I had to use light on my phone to see to get from my car to the door. Towel bar was falling out of the wall. Floor was dirty. Only good thing was the bed and pillows...amazing considering the condition of everything else. Water dripped all night in lavatory. I had to request a heater for my room. I guess for the price, I shouldn't have expected more.

Dirty, musty, roaches, and mouse droppings
The cottage we stayed in for one night(10A) had poor lighting and needed a thorough deep cleaning. There was a musty odor and the carpet, bathroom, and fixtures appeared old and very worn. We saw a few roaches running around during the night. The scenery is nice and we decided on our next trip to book rooms at the two story hotel pictured in online ads. That hotel was totally vacant and the rooms we were given were actually two of the cottages (31? A and B). These rooms were even worse. They were dirty, the water from the faucets had rust visible, the towels were old and stained, old food was in the microwave, roaches were in both rooms and one room had mice droppings all around the sink area. We left and found another hotel. The manager was nice and was apologetic but the place itself dirty and I would not recommend this place.
