Had a five night stay first week of Sept 2024. The hotel's location was very good for walking to the Old Port, to Saint Catherine St, to the Metro subway. The hotel was very clean and the service was fine. Lots of places to eat close by. The Tiramisu restaurant off the lobby was very good. A special shout out to Raymond on the front desk who gave us great directions.
The poor bits were: the Wi-Fi was horrible. I didn't pay for the higher speeds but used the basic free service, as I only wanted occasional email and no streaming. The Wi-Fi kept dropping ALL THE TIME. They appear to have the router set up to drop the connection if no activity within a few minutes. Every time I went to check my email I had to restart the laptop to get a connection. I was on vacation so not a killer but really unnecessary today. The connections shouldn't be dropped constantly.
The breakfast was very average. I had the oatmeal one morning and it was cool/cold. The pans with the egg and sausages were often empty, as was the bread/croissant bin, and we were there within the first hour (6:30-7:30) before it got busy.
Lastly, it was construction season in Montreal, so this wasn't the fault of the hotel, but the jackhammers were going at 6:30am every morning, so at least on the hotel side facing the front of the construction it was noisy all day long.
