The room we were given was dirty- had stains on the ceiling and the curtains. The shower did not work well and the bathroom had ants in it. Everything felt like it had not been updated since the 90s, and the condition of the room supported that.

Convenient and takes you back in time
We decided to stay over here before continuing to San Fransisco after doing a tour at Hearst Castle close by. The Hotel is named after the Castles architect. It is conveniently located next to the main road, though we could figure out how they post photos of the hotel next to the Ocean, when its not. One can easily stay here longer of you want to tour the region more

Hotel was nice gentleman at the front desk was very helpful. I had an issue with the gas chimney not going on and he resolved it within 30 minutes. We had a nice ocean view from room 263 and very economical.
