Great, convenient hotel in central Toulouse.
The hotel met all expectations. It's in a really convenient location in the centre of Toulouse, near the train station, yet being down a side street, is not at all noisy at night. The room was a comfortable size, with nice bedding and soft pillows. Everything clean, tidy and well maintained. The private balcony was also a great feature. Would not hesitate to stay here again when next in Toulouse.

Get to your hotel early
1st night - 1 person. 2nd night - 2 persons. I booked into the Caravelle as it was close to the train station. As I checked in at 9pm-ish I was given a room with air-conditioning. After much chatter reception placed a tower fan in my room - and offered a continental breakfast for 2 persons. A coffee and a croissant. Reception did not have the power to lower the price. I guess that was so as I had already paid for my stay. Generally the room was comfortable & clean with a window/balcony.

Great location close to the train station and an easy walk to downtown and the historic parts of Toulouse. Air conditioner was great, unlike many hotels in France. Hotel was clean with modest sized rooms. Internet was a bit slow. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Not all rooms are air conditioned
There was some mix-up with our reservation as we actually chose this hotel because they advertised air conditioned rooms. When we checked in we were given a non-air conditioned room, and the front desk clerk said that not all rooms in the hotel were air-conditioned, and that we should have specified this in our booking. Well, if that is the case, then they should include that option in the room selection in the first place. In any case, the receptionist was very accommodating and offered to transfer us to a sister hotel, about 500 meters away, with an air conditioned room as there were no more air conditioned rooms available at the hotel Caravelle. The hotel we transfered to (hotel st. Claire) was a bit run-down compared to the caravelle, but was good enough for a 1 night stay as the room was spacious and had cool airconditioning. Though the bathroom was not very presentable with only a linoleum floor that had a tendency to leak water into the room when showering. The staff was very friendly though. I would have preferred to stay at the Caravelle if they had an air conditioned room available as the room that was initially given to us was much more presentable with a nice bathroom, plus the hotel seems to have been recently refurbished. Just remember to specify an air conditioned room if that is what you want.

Great Stay....
Hotel Caravelle is a great place to stay while in Toulouse. The staff was very kind and helpful. Location is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Only small flaw was the WiFi connection in the room... it was a little lacking, but thank goodness there was a Starbucks close by to hangout at for needed WiFi. All in all it was a great stay. Merci beaucoup!

Great price in a great location
We had a lovely stay at the hotel in November. Yes, the room is slightly on the small side, but it's fantastically cosy and I doubt you'd find a better bargain, given the location. We were lucky to stay in a newly renovated room, and it was spotless. The bed was extremely comfy - absolutely top drawer, and the thick duvet made it nice and warm despite being freezing outside. The bathroom was, again, small but practical and incredibly clean. The location is great- really near the station, and in a quiet part of town. You can walk to the centre in 10 or so mins. The staff were all very friendly, and the 24-hour reception is a big plus. The only negative was the walls weren't very well sound proofed so you can hear people coming in and muffled talking in other rooms Not a huge problem though, and managed to have some really good sleeps. Overall, it's the perfect choice for those on a budget - great for the money, and a decent location from which to explore.

The earth moved, but not iin a good way
Unfortunately this hotel was undergoing renovations, so loud banging from early morning until 6.30pm - 7pm and shaking. I needed a rest with a siesta a possibility but none of that was possible. The hotel were apologetic and really nice but I think they should have let people know before they booked. There are 5 floors to renovate so if you need rest I would leave your stay until later when I am sure the hotel will be much improved and quieter.

Good basic hotel
The staff were absolutely lovely, kindly switching to fluent English when I got stuck. They were helpful and efficient. The room was very basic and a bit old but comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was no hairdryer in the room but there was one you could borrow from reception. I do breakfast there so I can't comment on that. The room had air conditioning which was good because it was hot! It was a good basic hotel. I felt safe as a solo female traveller.
