Let me start by saying the staff were lovely. Very helpful and friendly. The room itself was very new, clean and tidy. So thank you for that. However, let’s begin with walking into reception.
As much as a love Indian food, to have reception, the stairwell and passageway to my room stinking of Indian food, is not good.
Now I’m in my room and I go to sit on the bed. I have never been on a harder bed in my life. The mattress was absolutely dreadful. No springs, no comfort and if you tried to sleep on your side, you had massive hip pain within an hour or so.
Then there’s the noise. This is a HOTEL not a nightclub. The bar on the next level down was playing music so loud, it was distorting their large JBL speakers. The thumping from the music was cutting right through the walls – and this is a concrete, cyclone-proof building! If you wanted a quiet night, forget it. It went on until after midnight.
Then there are the Chinese powerpoints. If you know them, they have a US plug on one side and an Australian/New Zealand/Vanuatu plug on the other. If you try to put in a two-pin plug (without an earth) like all phone chargers and a lot of computer chargers are a safety mechanism inside the powerpoint won’t allow you to put it in. So like me, you won’t be able to charge your phone.
Oh and one final thing, there is no lift and no one to help you. So if you have a 20 or 25kg suitcase, you’ll do yourself a nasty injury carrying it up to the third floor where the rooms are.
