Shangri-La Chengdu
"We stayed three nights. Love the location, exceptional services and wonderful breakfast."
Echeng Hotel
"We had a clean, pleasant room with a very comfortable bed. The shower was also lovely. Unfortunately I have medication which needs a fridge, but there wasn't one in the room. We asked at reception, but they weren't very helpful. They said I could store it in their fridge but that wouldn't have worked for me as I need it with me. So I had the aircon on the lowest which kept the room cold enough for my meds. Aside from that, the hotel is in a good location with DiDi taxis vey easy to use."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Chengdu
- Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Chengdu is during January, February, and September, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to explore the city’s key landmarks, cultural sites, and historical attractions, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is recommended. This duration allows visitors to enjoy the city's temples, museums, and natural parks while taking in its rich culture and history. With the potential for lower prices during these months, it’s a great opportunity for travellers seeking affordable experiences in Chengdu.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Chengdu, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Additionally, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and special last-minute promotions, helping you seize potential savings. The Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see the best options. With these features, you'll be promptly notified of any price drops or availability changes for your preferred hotels.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to various factors including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a better deal for your stay in a Chengdu hotel. For those interested in a distinctive experience, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we may suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, assisting you in your search for a great offer.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be more expensive; however, with Chengdu's superb public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those eager to explore alternative, less populated neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative locations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
