Historic Center of Estepona
Estepona's Historic Centre captivates with narrow cobblestone streets and whitewashed buildings draped in colourful flowers. Wander through pedestrian-only zones where Plaza de las Flores buzzes with local energy and hidden courtyards reveal unexpected treasures. The 15th-century Clock Tower and Estepona Orchidarium offer cultural highlights, while artistic murals transform ordinary walls into open-air galleries. Traditional tapas bars and family-run restaurants serve authentic Andalusian cuisine throughout the area. Boutique hotels in restored historic buildings provide charming accommodation with traditional Spanish courtyards. Most attractions are within easy walking distance, though the uneven cobblestones might challenge those with mobility concerns.

New Golden Mile
The New Golden Mile stretches along pristine Mediterranean coastline between Estepona and Marbella, perfect for luxury-seekers and sun worshippers. Championship golf courses like El Paraiso and Atalaya attract club-swinging enthusiasts. The beachfront promenades invite leisurely strolls while Selwo Adventure Park offers wildlife encounters away from the sand. Beach clubs and upscale chiringuitos dot the golden beaches, serving fresh seafood with sea views. Modern resorts provide five-star comfort with spas and infinity pools just steps from the Mediterranean. A hire car gives the most flexibility to explore this elegant coastal playground.

Cancelada
Cancelada charms visitors with its relaxed beachside atmosphere and laid-back Mediterranean vibe. Spend sun-drenched days at Saladillo Beach or tee off at nearby Flamingos Golf Club. This quiet residential haven offers a peaceful alternative to bustling Estepona and Marbella while still providing easy access to coastal delights and the iconic Guadalmansa Tower. Local cafes and beach chiringuitos serve up fresh Mediterranean fare within walking distance of most holiday rentals. Most accommodation feature private or shared pools, with villas and apartments dominating the lodging scene. A hire car is essential for exploring the Costa del Sol properly, though the area itself is pleasantly walkable.

El Paraíso
El Paraíso blends Mediterranean beach life with upscale golf culture just minutes from Estepona. Sunbathe at Saladillo Beach or tee off at the championship El Paraíso Golf Club with its stunning sea views. Nearby Playa de Casasola-Atalaya offers quieter shores, while lush gardens and palm-lined streets create a peaceful retreat from the busier Costa del Sol hotspots. Dining focuses on fresh seafood and Mediterranean flavours in upscale restaurants with panoramic terraces. Most visitors stay in luxury villas with private pools or high-end resorts offering spa services. A hire car is essential for exploring this tranquil coastal enclave and reaching Málaga airport, about 45 minutes away.

Saladillo-Benamara
Estepona's Saladillo-Benamara neighbourhood is home to attractions, such as Malaga Province Beaches and Saladillo Beach.

Hotel Estepona Plaza
"Everything about these place was fantastic. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The location is perfect. And the room was comfortable and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back."
Ona Valle Romano Golf & Resort
"Great room, air conditioning wasn’t adequate for a two bedroomed apartment. The shower isn’t adjustable, you have to take it out of the holder. Long way to walk from brown block to the restaurant especially uphill. Very confusing layout from the carpark to the apartment. Different to find your way around. Car park very tight to park any vehicle unless it’s a mini. Staff lovely and helpful."
Hotel Piedra Paloma by Croma
"The room has everything you need and clean balcony is perfect. The staff are so friendly made my stay feel better. Definitely will book again"
Hotel Boutique La Brisa del Mar
"Proximity to old town and beach excellent, access simple with card to tap in . Very clean , towels changed and room cleaned daily . Great size room with table and chairs plus sofa ."
THE FLAG Hotel Marbella Estepona - Adults Recommended
"Overall excellent and lived up to my expectations, based on all the other positive reviews here. In terms of the lovely private garden down to the beach, the beautiful undeveloped sandy beach itself, and the quite pool area, it was just what I wanted for. a few days to chill in perfect weather, and better than expected. The room was also nice and comfortable (they gave me a mattress topper immediately, which was perfect, as I thought the mattress was a tad hard). Bathroom is quite basic, but it's not a five-star hotel and it's perfectly clean, but could have better ventilation, as no external window. Big issue is the overall location, apart from the private access to the beach, as it's right next to a very busy motorway, and a big junction, so there is no town to walk to or places to visit locally. Cancelada has little to offer (it's in the name!), and even then it is some distance to walk to, as you have to walk a long way to a pedestrian bridge to cross over the motor-way. So if you like being in a place where you can walk to nice restaurants and cafes and bars, from your hotel, and sit out in the evenings, this is not the place for you. I found the food in the hotel to be of very mixed quality. Otherwise you are having to get taxis to go anywhere else. Staff were all really excellent, friendly and helpful. If you did not have good weather and could not sit out by the pool, or go to the beach, there wouldn't be much else to do here."
Exe Estepona Thalasso & Spa - Adults only Recommended
"Good customer service in hotel & spa will definitely stay there again"
Grand Hotel Las Dunas, Autograph Collection
"I loved the location, the staff and the aesthetics of the property. I highly recommend it."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Estepona
- Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Estepona on a budget is an attractive proposition, particularly during January, February, and November when hotel prices may drop to lower prices. A stay of at least 3 to 4 days is recommended to fully experience the town’s key landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions, which include its beach, spa, romantic spots, golf course, marina, secluded retreats, nudebeach, cocktail bars, hilly landscapes, and sunny weather. This period offers an affordable and great value-for-money opportunity to explore the rich history and cultural heritage of Estepona.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: You may discover attractive deals on Estepona hotels by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com, where discounted rates may be available. If you’re planning a spontaneous trip, the Last-Minute Deals section could offer opportunities for savings close to your travel date. Additionally, Hotels.com's Smart Shopping comparison tool, accessible via the app, allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you’re more likely to see a favourable option when booking last minute. Stay alert for email alerts or push notifications to ensure you don't miss any potential opportunities.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year. Therefore, having some flexibility with your travel dates could assist you in finding a more favourable rate for your stay in an Estepona hotel. For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price seems a bit steep, we’ll suggest alternative dates that might help you secure a more attractive rate.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre generally tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Estepona's excellent public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often superb value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative locations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
