I’ve always stayed in Porto in different places and have always enjoyed my visits. Unfortunately, this time I chose this apartment, and it turned out to be a very poor decision.
Two hours before check-in, I was informed that the previous guest had left the apartment in bad condition and had broken the toilet seat. I was assured that everything had been fixed before my arrival.
However, when I arrived, this was not true. The toilet seat was still broken, and the flush was not working properly. The sofa was also dirty and stained, which immediately made the apartment feel unclean.
I contacted the host and requested a partial refund so I could move to another property, but this was refused. On top of that, an additional €300 deposit had been taken, which made it difficult for me to book alternative accommodation.
We ended up staying the night, but it was one of the worst nights I’ve had. The mattress was extremely thin ,it felt like sleeping on the floor, and I could not rest properly. I reported this as well, but again, nothing was done and no solution was offered.
By the second day, after some rain, a strong damp smell started coming from the walls. It became very intense and made it difficult to breathe, especially for someone like me with asthma.
Overall, this was a very uncomfortable and disappointing experience. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place at all costs.
