The iconic Balboa Fun Zone buzzes with vintage arcade games and a classic Ferris wheel, while surfers catch waves near Newport Pier. Stroll the lively boardwalk, hop on the charming Balboa Island Ferry, or try your hand at fishing from one of the historic piers. Beachside eateries serve fresh seafood and famous Balboa Bars (frozen treats) perfect after a day of sand and surf. Most visitors explore on foot or rent bikes to cruise the peninsula's flat, scenic paths. Accommodation options range from oceanfront holiday rentals to beach cottages, all placing you steps from the water's edge.

Corona del Mar
Corona del Mar blends laid-back beach vibes with upscale village charm. Golden sands await at Corona del Mar State Beach, where tide pools teem with marine life. Nearby, Sherman Library and Garden offers a peaceful retreat of blooming flowers and quiet paths. Little Corona Beach provides intimate coves perfect for escaping summer crowds, while Inspiration Point delivers spectacular Pacific views. Dining options range from casual cafes to sophisticated restaurants serving fresh seafood with ocean views. The village core is pleasantly walkable, though a car is recommended for exploring Newport Beach's surrounding attractions. Luxurious holiday rentals and boutique inns dominate accommodation, reflecting the neighborhood's affluent coastal character.

Newport Coast
Newport Coast dazzles with dramatic ocean views and sun-kissed luxury at every turn. Crystal Cove State Park offers pristine wilderness trails and beach access while championship golf courses at Pelican Hill tempt even casual players. This exclusive enclave blends Mediterranean-inspired architecture with California coastal beauty, creating a serene retreat from busier tourist areas. Resort dining dominates with ocean-view restaurants and upscale shopping options at Newport Coast Shopping Centre. Accommodation range from world-class resorts with spa facilities to premium holiday rentals. A car is essential for exploring the winding hillside roads, as public transit options are limited.

Lido Isle
This exclusive island feels like Newport Beach's best-kept secret, where quiet waterfront paths wind around luxury homes and private docks. Stroll the perimeter trail for million-dollar views of bobbing yachts and the glittering harbour. The vibe is peaceful and upscale, a welcome escape from touristy beaches yet just minutes from Newport Pier. Getting around means having wheels since public transit is limited here. Nearby Lido Marina Village offers boutique shopping and waterfront dining when you're ready to venture off this residential enclave. Most visitors stay in high-end holiday rentals with enviable water views and private amenities.
Mariners

The Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve offers a serene escape for nature lovers, while nearby Fashion Island tempts with high-end shopping. Getting around requires a car, though the tree-lined streets make for pleasant walks close to your accommodation. Most visitors opt for luxury holiday rentals rather than hotels. When hunger strikes, you'll need to venture beyond the area boundaries to Newport's renowned dining scene.

Learn more about Newport Beach
Forget the glitz of 'The O.C.' - the real Newport Beach delivers California dreams without requiring a millionaire's budget. Balboa Pier extends into the Pacific like an exclamation point, while sailors navigate the harbour with the casual confidence of people who consider boats essential transport. Fashion Island mall offers retail therapy between beach sessions, though locals prefer the quirky charm of Balboa Island's waterfront shops. Take the charming ferry to explore this man-made island's boutiques and frozen banana stands (yes, just like on television). Crystal Cove's tide pools reveal miniature underwater worlds, while Newport Dunes provides calm waters perfect for families. The Balboa Fun Zone maintains its old-school carnival atmosphere despite the surrounding affluence.

Hyatt Regency Newport Beach
"Easy loxation"
Renaissance Newport Beach Hotel
"Great business hotel. I stayed for a work trip. I would not say her with the family, because it is not very close to anything except the airport. It seemed to be mostly business travelers, people who had layovers or flights at the airport, and people in town for a conference. Rooms were very clean, the staff was friendly. I would stay again if I needed to be in this area for work."
Balboa Inn, On the Beach
"Great location near everything, helpful staff and accommodations."
Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel
"Super service, super cute hôtel, super view ! five star !!"
Balboa Bay Resort
"This was a really great spot that was wonderful for my family including a 2.5 yr old and 6 month old. Shout-out to Georgia at the front desk who helped us check-in and accommodate us—I had made a snafu in booking and had two different reservations. Another person helped us previously and said there was nothing they could do but Georgia was able to get us a king bed room that prevented us from switching rooms. The staff was helpful in terms of getting us baby things- tea kettle, extra bottles of water, and crib. Someone saw my kids one morning and came back with two dolphin stuffies- one for each of them. The pool was great and I liked the location in that it was near Balboa Bay but also accessible to the rest of the area. We were in town visiting friends in Laguna Hills and Huntington Beach, with a party in Balboa Bay so the location worked for us. My only real criticism is that the food could be much better. The poolside snacks and breakfast were decent but the dinner was not great—my wife paid $36 for a mediocre chicken Caesar salad."
Lido House, Autograph Collection
"Great family atmosphere and wonderful pool!"

- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate due to various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may assist you in finding a better deal for your stay in a Newport Beach hotel. For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and occasionally better value.
