My experience at the Leonardo Hotel in Amsterdam was fine. Upon arrival, I encountered an issue with my reservation, as the hotel initially could not locate my desired room type. This caused a delay in getting to the room while the staff worked to find a room type that I had paid for.
Once done 10mins later, the room itself was clean but rather small. A notable concern was the bathroom door, which did not close completely, leaving a large gap at the bottom. In the morning when having a shower I found out why. This design likely helps manage the steam from the shower, as the bathroom vent was completely insufficient.
The drinks and breakfast provided on the 17th floor were again fine and are nothing to shout about.
The primary advantage of this hotel is its excellent location. The tram stop is a mere 3-5 minute walk away, offering convenient access to various parts of Amsterdam. Plus the shuttle service to the airport is highly convenient and low cost (cheaper and more comfortable than a taxi or Uber).
If you’re looking for a clean, fast and moderately priced place to stay for a few days I would recommend this hotel. But if you’re looking for something more, go elsewhere.
Overall, I would rate my stay 3 out of 5 stars. The hotel is a good option for those seeking an affordable, short-term stay. However, for guests desiring more comfort and amenities, look elsewhere. I’m glad I only had a weekend here.
