Beautiful and comfortable
Hotel del Paso was very comfortable. We were in town for a family emergency and this hotel was conveniently close to the hospital. The staff was very nice and helpful and never had an issue with any of them. The room was super clean and they would do a really good job at having it ready after a long day at the hospital.

Location, location, location and very accommodating staff. There's no such thing as quiet time. There was some construction and some guest didn't care about the time.

Underrated, great hotel in Puebla
I've stayed at this hotel twice over the past few years. It's a pleasure. Very quiet (contrary to some previous posts--I think those folks must have had bad luck). In fact, unlike so many Mexican hotels, this isn't a 'concrete bunker' with echoes from the hallways. The doors are nicely secure, too. It is about a ten minute walk to the downtown, but conversely, a park is just one block to the west (and the military and railroad museums very nearby). Exceedingly friendly staff here. I highly recommend.

I liked the clean rooms, friendly staff, and great location. I actually prefer a harder mattress like the one in the room. For the price, you can't beat it. What I didn't like was the noise level in the place. Because of the way the hotel was constructed, you can hear every little sound. Also the other guests didn't make any attempt quiet down even late into the night. On my last night the couple above me decided to have a very loud argument that started at 2 am and went on to about 3:30 am. Since I was a guest in a foreign country, I didn't know what the etiquette is for asking people to keep the noise down. I will definitely stay somewhere else on next visit to Puebla.

I was in room 8, which doesn't face the lovely courtyard and so is extra quiet in a nook hallway. Nice TV, private bath. As with many Mexican hotel, there's a center courtyard, complete with friendly parakeets. Only 1-2 blocks from the big Paseo del Bravo park/dedicated bus lane station. It's maybe a 10 min walk to the Zocalo. Across the street from front entrance is a primary school (don't worry, no noisy) set in a classical building. Daily room service. Oxxo convenience stores (2) located 2-4 blocks away. Electrical outlets are the only take the two-prong so bring an adapter to accomodate the round ground terminal

Bad hotel, bad area. Nice city, Cholula is better
Bad neighborhood, people unfamiliar with the city should avoid. Stay closer to the zocalo for toutism or on av Juarez for nightlife. For sightseeing, prefer Cholula over Puebla.

2/10 Poor

Great location, but hotel lacks basic ammenities.
I reserved 5 rooms at this hotel for my family and I. While the hotel was in a great location, we encountered the following problems: 1. We arrived at 5pm to check in and only one out of the five rooms were ready. Spoke to management of the hotel and they said that due to a group of students who did not check out until 4pm, the rooms were not ready. Nothing was offered by management to compensate for this inconvenience. 2. When the guest checked in for the 5th room, she was told that there was a problem with one of the beds. Apparently the bed frame had been broken and the mattress was on the floor. The reception personnel said this was NOT their fault. When another room was demanded, the guests got a single room instead of a double-room. 3. One out of the five rooms had no water in the shower. It took maintenance two hours to fix. And once "fixed" - there was no hot water. 4. Two out of five rooms had no hot water the first day. 5. The towels provided on the first day were disgustingly dirty and old. 6. The dining room offers breakfast for purchase. It took hour and a half to get breakfast made and served at the table for 7 of us. While I realize this is a 3-star hotel, the basics are basics (hot water, clean towels, and functioning beds). I would NOT stay at this hotel again nor do I recommend it. Shop around - there are other small hotels in the area for about the same daily rate.

Quality vs price, fantastic!
Great little hotel for the price. A short, easy 15 minute stroll right into the centre of the old town. Lots of things to see on the way. Room was clean. Great water pressure in the shower with hot water. Beds and pillows were firm, but comfortable. No English speaking channels on the TV. room cleaned daily with re supply's of water. Simple tasty breakfast for 45 pesos.

Needs a lot of work
Decent location in Puebla however the hotel is in desperate need of renovation. Everything in the room is very, very old. The toilet did not work when we got there and although the staff were quick to replace a broken part, it then took 20-30mins to be able to flush again everytime you used it, so still wasn't in great working condition. The place is kept clean but everything does feel as though it will fall apart when you touch it. Perhaps ok as a one night stop over.

Nice hotel, good location
Stayed for 6 nights. Hotel was clean and courtyard was beautiful. The staff were very friendlyand accomodating, but none spoke any English, so you may need to know some Spanish or have someone to interpret for you. Hotel is within a short walking distance to the centro.

got screwed
Be very careful about making a reservation unless you are absolutely positive that it is where you want to stay. I made a reservation and one day later realized it was too soon and they took $70 of mine. I will never stay in that hotel

Faded beauty in Puebla.
Beautiful courtyard and layout but terrible front desk staff who took forever to find out Expedia booking and seemed to have been on the job for one day. Walls paper thin so we heard people next door. Room = dark and cramped.
