My wife and I booked the Parador thinking it was a nice place in Sucre, but we were mistaken. My wife and I are not that picky, but the room does need to be clean. The hotel staff were friendly and the main hotel area was very nice, but the room was unpleasant. The bathroom smelled like mildew requiring the fan to be on at all times. We had to open doors upon returning to the room. The towels were stained and there were large, long-lived mildew stains in the bathroom. Had to wait 15 min to get our room, at 6pm and I suppose it was so they could open windows to air it out. On arrival, we booked another night, realizing we needed another day. The morning of the extra night, we were told our additional reservation was not in the computer, 10 minutes before we were scheduled for an all day tour. The staff made a reservation at a nearby hotel, but we had to rush to get our bags before the tour. Fortunately our driver waited while we raced to check into the other hotel. We were essentially kicked out, but the other place was very clean, the roomroom was modernized, and the Wifi was much faster. We would not stay at Parador again. Perhaps the more expensive rooms are less dated, more clean, and altogether more pleasant.
