Hotel canx booking.
Hotels.com took booking. 2 days later The Accommodation rang me direct to advise they were closing the weekend I was due to stay. Contacted Hotels.com and after several connection issues with an out of UK contact centre was unable to find alternative. Bit hacked off as was advised my refund would take 7-10 days to process. Should have been immediate if out of my control. Found another booking privately. Hotels.com still asking me how my stay was!!!

Inadequate accommodation
This is a very run down establishment and does not match the details provided . Rooms are not ensuite, carpets and other areas are old and dirty. There is a strong smell of smoke pervading the place - indeed the landlady was smoking downstairs while we were having breakfast. The bar was closed before 9.00pm - no customers apparently. The bed was comfortable but the towels were threadbare. The shower room provided was down a dingy corridor, contained cleaning equipment and had an extremely weak shower.

One night only!
At £55 it was pretty reasonable I suppose, but I'm glad it was 'one night only'. I thought I had room with a bath, but the bath/ shower/ toilet was down the corridor. No cold runing water in the sink, tv didn't work in the bedroom, kettle wouldn't fit under tap (hot tap) for drinks. Limited menu for meals, unlike on the website. Breakfast only cereal and toast. Bed comfy, and room clean, but pub is clearly being run on a shoestring

Terrible
Well got into the room the T.V did not work there was urine on the toilet seat hairs on the bathroom tiles the door to the room looked like it had been kicked in several times just generally dirty throughout there was steps by the window so you could smoke out the window the land lady at breakfast walking around with a cigarette in her mouth I was given an ashtray well a jug in which milk served in at breakfast had scrambled eggs the fist day as no bacon available just floating in water the second day had the full English that was not that nice either only stayed the second night as already paid was given a mop bucket to flush toilet with it is the worst place I have ever stayed could not wait to get out

We booked a 3 night stay and there was no restaurant available which we was not advised about prior to booking We booked also as it seemed to have sports channels but didn’t have that either Breakfast was a “continental” only due to lack of chef but even that was very poor Have to say the guy behind the bar was very helpful and polite….

Very disappointing - not recommended.
Staff were great, but rooms very dated and cleanliness also poor - particularly in the en-suite shower and toilet. The room did not get remade or replenished with coffee/tea/milk at all during my stay. The room was on the front of the building so unacceptably noisy due to outside drinking (every night) and a surprisingly busy road. The breakfast was very basic (boxes of cereal, whole fruit, toast, fruit juices) with the option to upgrade to a cooked breakfast for £5 - so the advertised 'free breakfast' is very misleading. The evening meals were very good value for money however!

Great experience
I was hosting at The Hall for Cornwall in Truro which was a 15min drive away. The pub was in a little village called Chacewater and there was a convenient store and fish and chips shop. I was allowed to eat the takeaway in the pub as they had stopped serving food. The room was clear and tidy. I must say the staff and locals were friendly and had a wonderful stay.

Clean and comfortable
The room was clean and comfortable. The pub had changed landlord this week so new people settling in. Food stopped at 7pm. Chip shop wasn’t good and only shop also closed at 7pm. But that is not the King’s Heads fault just the local customer demand.

Good for price
Overall a decent stay for the price. Toilet in room was a bit smelly but other than that room ok. Nice pub and friendly staff, food was nice. Road was a bit noisy at night but you get what you pay for.

March Into Chacewater
We first stayed here back in August 2021 as a last minute one night booking and this was a return visit for longer. We were given a warm welcome by Darren upon arrival and given the keys for the same room as last time. The pub has recently had a change of management and that is apparent in the room because the level of cleanliness has improved. Our room was at the front of the pub looking onto the main room and although there was noise from the traffic it was not too bad during the night. A full English breakfast is included in the room price and is generous enough to set you up for the rest of the day. We also ate a couple of evening meals in the bar area. Both times the food were generous portions and excellent value for money. There is parking onsite, but it's easier to park in the free car park just around the corner. The pub is also on a bus route which is handy for exploring the rest of Cornwall if you fancy a break from driving. The only downside was on the last night the occupants in the neighbouring room were quite noisy; talking on mobile phones in the corridor and banging the door throughout the night.

Pot house
Were do i start. the first time i tried booking a roos because his laptop what running slow and said i should call back in 10 minuets, the hung up on me, if it wasn't for the fact my daughter was in hospital, and I needed a place close to the hospital i would not have bothered, I was able to book a room via Hotels.com, which stated there was breakfast included, when i asked what time it would be served i was told i did not have Breakfast included with the room. I had to stay the night we my daughter in the hospital and my partner stayed in the room, the bathroom was the other end of the hallway from the room, we was given no instructions for getting in or out so my partner was not aware of the door to the side for guest to enter and leave and was unable to get out, Itried calling but had no answer he finally came to the door and was very rude, and pointed to the door on the side an said we could not use the door we had used the night before to get in and go to the room, and to top in of when i did manage to get in to have a Luke warm shower the hallway had a smell of cannabis, worst experience ever is an understatement.

Bank Holiday Overnighter
Great location for a last minute overnight stay. Check in was really easy; we were shown to our room by the world’s youngest landlady! Room was clean and modern looking. Although it was overlooking the main road through Chacewater it wasn’t overly noisy. Great breakfast in the morning; cereals, juice and coffee/tea followed by a cooked to order English breakfast which was delicious.

One night stay
We stayed for just one night to attend a day event. It is an old building so expect a few quirky things about it. I cant comment on the food as we didnt have time to stay for breakfast. We left mega early! But I would stay here agian if I was attending a local event ir seeing local friends. Was a very comfortable night
