Although I originally booked the Garni Hotel Leopold, I was given a room in the other (sister) hotel, the (classic) Leopold. The hotel is quite nice although the location is better suited to leisure travelers than to business travelers who need to be at the Novi Sad fairgrounds or in the center. I can imagine that in the summer it would be lovely to be up in the Petrovaradin fortress with a view of the Danube and the town but for me it was a bit out of the way. That said, the rooms were nice (old fashioned furniture) and clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent for a smaller hotel with cooked to order off the menu and a few additional items set out buffet style (including prosciutto). Toiletries were fine and the internet worked well (lots of different hotspots in the hotel with the same password, so you have to find a new connection in your room vs. the lobby vs. the dining room).
I tend to focus on the faults, so here they are in no particular order. The shower in the bathroom was a bit small and it drained poorly, I found myself standing in a pool of water quite quickly and although I reported it, maintenance wasn't able to fix it during the day I was out. The curtains aren't blackout and so light comes into the room in the morning. In the winter that's not a problem but in the summer when the sun comes up at 4 a.m. in Serbia, it might be an issue for some. Finally, the TV is older style (tube).
