8/10 Very good

The location is great. Definitely worth waking up early to walk around the hutongs nearby before dawn—highlight of our trip. The building is older and is due for an update, but is very clean and warm. I believe our room was upgraded from a double to a double deluxe room, which was very spacious.

Language barrier
Setback: 1. Lack of English. Hard to communicate with them. 2. Toilet was dirty with stains on the wall. No bottled water given. Overall, the stay was ok. Quite easy to find the hotel as it is located along main road. Walked to the hotel from Qianmen MRT station.

Recommended for Foreigners
The hotel is right across Qianmen shopping street and just a few blocks away from Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City. Location is really perfect. It is very near the Subway as well. Qianmen Station line 2. Just don't expect that much on service and facility of the hotel as it is a little bit old. The Internet is fast.

Couldn't have asked for more !
In a near perfect location - a short walk from Tiananmen square, with many lively restaurants in the surrounding area. Not a luxury hotel by any means, but was quite comfortable and the price was more than fair.

Cheap and simple
Good Price and central to tourist attraction . Hotel is simple, no extras, more like a youth hostel . Loud and noisy.

No air conditioner, no fridge, no complimentary water, poor beds, toiletries were unmarked and room was generally unclean. Location is good and the service was friendly. If you need a cheap and safe room that is in the center of Beijing, then this can be worth it. If you want a room to relax in and can't stand the heat, then pass this place.

I will go again.
Reasonable walking distance from subway station. A lot of good Chinese foods selections around the area. Hotel staffs are very helpful and the overall service is very good. The only complain is the toilet blocked twice and we have to use the public restroom in the hotel for a couple nights. That might not be their fault because afterward we learnt that the local general public in that area do not put the "soiled" toilet paper etc into the toilet for flushing. They keep them in a separate bin waiting for collection. A cultural thing that we are not used to. The price is very reasonable compared to other hotel with the same facilities with services that is not as good. I will go again if I am planning on having the same budget. By the way...go try the Beijing Duck nearby and for sure you can find tasty items which the famous brand restaurant cannot even provide...with way cheaper price. :)

Kings Joy
Amazing area, plenty of eateries, easy access to the public transport network, walkable distance to Tiananmen square. Descent comfort for the low price that I paid for. The only complaint is the low hot water pressure.

Conveniently located near Qianmen walking Street and Line 2 subway line, Qianmen Stop which connects to all the main attractions in Beijing. There are many shops, restaurants, in the area. Hotel room is small for two people but given the price and proximity to city centre, it's good value for money.

I want to be all happy and smiles but I feel I need to be honest. I will say straight off is that the hotel is not bad, I think we just got a low cost room. My first nitpick is that the elevator only goes up to the fifth floor, so if one has a sixth floor room, that means taking a flight of stairs up the final floor. I am sure most people can handle that fine, but for someone unfit - whether that is overweight or aging - it can be draining, plus I had a strained ankle while I was there. Room cleaning relations for our room were minimal, with no bedding straightened, just the rubbish and dirty towels removed and complementary toilet paper and tooth brushes replenished. My other problem was with the front steps, which I do wish had some hand railings available, as due to my ankle injury I had constant stability issues when going down stairs. However I am grateful to the security staff who frequently gave me a steady hand when I went out. But other than these issues, I want to reiterate that this is a good little hotel, located right near a tourist spot and not far from some of Beijing's biggest monuments. It also has a small shop on the ground floor, inside the guest door, that organises tours and sells a number of minor goods, like drinks, snacks, and a few souvenirs. The shop attendant also organises transport to the airport, which is very handy. Do not pass up on this hotel, but consider putting forth a little more money for one of their better rooms.
